So how are you guys getting on with polo?
Would you mind if I came along one day to watch and see the general flow of the game? I might try my hand but wouldn't mind poping along first.

There's never enough of us to get a game. And we have no decent place to play yet. Norwich polo is not in its infancy, it's still a spermatozoa...
-
• #81
Lol. That's some quality wording. There are loadsa spots, but fuck all of us bother to go out when its play time! Hahahaha. Watch this space, and get involved.

I will definitely come down when the Surly is sorted. Just cranks, headset and a few fiddly bits and it's on the road.
-
• #83
Remember to get reamed and faced, or that Chris King will be out of warranty and probably wobbly.
-
• #84
Where's the best place to get that done?
-
• #85
hey guys, if you fancy a trip to cambridge one day to play polo feel free. we play all day sunday every sunday (and manic tuesday nights), have coffee and cake facilities nearby (spar), and always enjoy meeting new polo people!

Found a great place for mallet heads. Panks Pumps on Heigham Street. They gave me a free meter of black thick 50mm HDPE pipe... Will probably need 60mm though. They do differnt colours too... Just a shame it is off a reel, so it is curved, but when cut down should be fine...

Lay it on a warm radiator with something heavy pressing it flat. Leave for a few days. Voila!
-
• #88
need to get some polo practice first haha!
-

Ok, been a while. For my birthday Dom and I went out for a blast, then twatted some balls about...
My mate works for a sewage company, anfd he got me some lengths of mdpe pipe (the thick blue stuff). If anyone wants some stuff to make their own heads, gimme a shout out!

Made Noah a mini polo mallet yesterday, and went to a basletball court with dogtoucherdom! Had a right laugh. A 3 year old and 2 big kids witha combined mental age of about 3! Hahahahahaha.
Anyone up for a game at some point. One weekday evening this week? I have got a few spare mallets, but plenty of pipe to make the heads if people can supply there own handles (ski poles, ali broom handles, golf clubs etc...), and chip in to buy some more securing bolts!
Will be sick. May try and get some kids playing as well! We will see though. What dya think?

That was fun last night! When shall we do it again?
-
• #92
Soon?
-
• #93
How's about tonight for a couple of hours again? We need more mallet handles though. I have got enough for one team!
-
• #94
Stuck working tonight, got some freelance to finish.
-
• #95
Oh well. You out Friday? May have a game then go for a ride. Plus I should have some beer tokens stored up... Sound good?
-
• #96
Spoke to Sparky last night and he is up for a game of polo in the week. We should designate a night for a proper game or 2.
-
• #97
Am up for that... might need to adjust my gear ratio a bit though.
Got an ideas for places to play? Jumpers for goalposts and all that.
-
• #98
yeah loads of spots all over norwich. Just stick with standard gearing for now whilst we all are just messiong about! hahahha. Can you get hold of some handles. i got loads of heads and bolts, just need some handles...
-
• #99
Stupid question, but what kind of thing do you need for handles?
Saw a polo vid the other day which reckons ski poles make good handles. SnowFit in Brundall is just around the corner from me, could go ask if they've got any old rental ones they want to get shot of.

Yeah ski poles are the best... You can use just about anything. A few of us know Chris who owns snow fit so shall give him a look...
Jeez, you two would make a savage pair. The good lady in goal and you've got a decent team there.
