Mrs Owenreed "lost" my tent at a festival in spain :(
Sounds like a great idea, apart from spending two days with you jerks

What a great idea. I can't as this is just before the end of my school term which means I know in advance that I'll have multiple assignments all due the week later.
Also... March, might be a bit nippy. A summer version with far less cold weather to worry about would see me sign up in an instant.
Rocking idea though, wish I could make it.

Aw, was going to email ladystardust to see if you guys were free. You could always get the train back from Brighton on Sunday morning if you could spare the Saturday?
In my head March is going to positively balmy compared to right now (I know London's pretty mild today but there's an icy wind blowing through Guildford). That said I am up for a summer re-run.

Bloody fair weather cyclists! March is the start of spring...all those little lambs to throw on the barbeque.
And here was me thinking that fancy new bike was actually gonna get used properly....sigh....very disappointed.
What kind of example are you setting the troops Colonel?

It might be possible... but you need numbers before the 20th and I won't know how many and how severe the assignments until the week or two before the trip. Last week of college is the week after this, so that would be the deadline.

Hey, I was sans-winter clothing today. Felt lovely, really fast and fun back on tarmac and with leg hairs blowing in the wind. Fresh!

;)I feel all ganged up on. Is that even English?
How much would the camping cost if I committed under the understanding that should the size and complexity of the assignments preclude my attendance you get more space to lay the bikes in? Oh, just looked... £15. Sure put me down... but I'm reserving the right to cancel the week before if I'm drowing in assignments (my Christmas was ruined because of 1 assignment, so it's a realistic possibility).

I suspect the booking thing is going to be a bit messy but all the weekends after that date are mostly or fully booked up already, hence asking people to put their names down so early.
edit: I mean, not all weekends ever, but for a while from March 20th onwards.

I'm disappointed in you.. -

I would love to do this, but I'm in the same boat as Velocity boy...
For that reason, I'm out.

How so?
Uh-oh... I don't want to know do I.

Legs should be depilated. No excuses.

Coward.
Wax is the one true way to obtain a millionth of a second advantage over 60 miles.

We'll go ahead and book the confirmed spots next week, but I'm sure there'll still be pitches available for a while after that - just keep an eye on the booking calendar. I just didn't want something disastrous to happen like some bunch of selfish cyclists go and book up the campsite before we get in there.

Depilate just means remove hair.
I'm happy to wax, epilate or shave. -

I'm happy to wax, epilate or shave. All of them? Sounds like a good experiment in regrowth and ingrowing hairs could be done here.
Of course we'd need to leave part of the leg alone as a control.

I'll share with one of you loners (my one good tent is a bit large to carry): dicki if Babs isn't available can I crash in yours please? Or with joe/piotr. Thing is, piotr's *men*tal and I can hardly understand a word he says. Ah well.
Beter check my beloved (Vee? that an OK word?) won't mind me pissing off for a night though, it's a bit near her birthday but happily just after mine when I get my new panniers. Will confirm tomorrowish.

I have a spare tent if you want to borrow skullster, need to check if its bikeable though.
-
• #46
I have one too if you need. If I come I may bivi it.
-
• #47
Well, less stuff to carry is better so I'd rather share, and split a tent up on two bikes, but thanks for the offer clefty.
-
• #48
Oooh that's a good idea tommy! Bivi bags is well hardcore.
-
• #49
Woooot!
Are we bringing an in-pelaton beautician to ensure smooth legs?
-
• #50
@ skully
i only have a bivi bag myself, babs windsor is what i call my blow up doll
there is room for two but only one on top of the other
i could leave her at home and we could get to know one another better in my bivi bag
let me know !!
Looks like fun, and i agree the campsite looks awesome, would have to sort out the gearing on the Polo bike though...
