Brisbane in particular is ridiculously over-inflated for bike products.

Try to steer clear of suburban bike shops, as they are the worst offenders. Epic cycles in Rosalie is pretty good value for a nice, independent shop. Avoid the peninsula, anything in west end, or wooloongabba industrial area.

For a bit of window shopping go to velo cycles in windsor..

I bought the cables thnking I'd find a bike in no time... Still no bike... :/

hmm, i had a look on the classifieds on fixed.org and aust cycling forum, but nothing at the moment.. i'm trying to remember the name of the bike store on the northside that has a basement full of amazing stuff (that they know what's worth, but never try to rip people off), will email a friend about it to find out.
