  • I think you're trying to conjure up the word 'shinty' here.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shinty

    Pedantry fail.

    I suggest a name-change...

  • Can we go back to leaning yet?

  • hippy, you will never be lean

  • I don't need to be.. I'm far too awesome to give a shit about my personal appearance.

  • Fatty. Win.

  • the guy gets a hard time.

Yes, if you were a woman I'd call call you "a real/strong woman"

  • If I just tuck this here.. .

    and tuck those away there...

    almost...

    and that's..

    oh yeah... hello boys!

  • buy titanium - saves washing the frame

    +1

  • So is it time to bump this thread, it was damn cold today... surely we'll be getting icey roads soon.

    Remember folk, do not lean!

  • Doph... took my first ice tumble yesterday morning on an Edinburgh backstreet. Less of a fall, more an ungainly dismount... onto my arse.

  • I'll lead you all the way...

  • I'll lean, all the way...

  • No ice or frost likely in London for the foreseeable * future. In fact it should be going back to mildness soon if a little wet.

    *Next ten days.

  • Net check is currently forecasting 50mph+ winds for the start of next week.

Which should be fun, depending iron direction of wind/travel.

  • Iron direction! Shit. That sounds bad.

  • Man the fuck up. We've had these for the past two weeks. Stock levels in shops are now getting low.

70+ for tomorrow and into next week.

  • Hang onto that rock Andy. And make sure Nancy is well secured too.

  • Ahh strong winds remind me of home (and beans, but mostly home).

Picking many skinny riders out of your teeth andy?

  • Watch out for snow/ice falling off the back of cars. I was behind a car on a country road in Essex last year, a huge sheet of compacted snow came off the back - I was only pootling along but I only had just about enough time to pick a path through it, but the rear wheel caught a slippery bit and I did an amusing slow-motion slide into a big pile of snow (which are not as soft as they look).

    I am a skinny rider.

There was a large patch of frost in the playground of the school where I was working today. It had gone by 9.30 though.

  • Cold out there this morning. This weather seems to have taken some by surprise. Saw one rider with no gloves and another in a t-shirt. Not sure what that's about.

Unfortunately I also saw a rider lose it on a corner and hit the deck. I was pulling out the the Inner Circle, Regents Park into the Outer and there was a serious loss of traction. Back wheel slipped right out, close call I thought and carried on my way. A few seconds later I heard a crash. Turned round and someone had taken the corner at speed going the other way and hit the deck.

Be careful out there. Fixed gear is definitely the way to go in this weather
