  • tell me more. sounds like my bike/project. except i don't want mine to be downright dangerous.

  • @jung more clues or pictures please

  • Well....dry clutch (maybe rusted solid)...very heavily ported....watercooled parallel twin, in a different manufacturers frame. Not really decided on the rest yet. Pics next w/e after I can do some dismembering.

  • english?

  • nnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • ...thats the sound of the two strokes

  • Is it an RD?

  • thats the sound of a horse

  • Apart from my brief CR500 interlude a couple of years ago, I haven't had a 2-stroke since 1997. It's testament to the number of seizures and blow ups I had back then that I still ride with 2 fingers over the clutch at all times....;)

RD guess is pretty close btw.

  • tdr?

  • Aaah, so it's a Yammie. TD? One with a Z in?

  • i am of this opinion too.

TRAINING WISE they are good tho.

  • ....ah go on. It's a hybrid TZ350 motor (hence the dry clutch) and it's going in a Suzuki RG250 frame. Yama-Gamma!

Unfortunately it's all is in a pretty poor state at the moment, so I need to completely strip and rebuild the motor (not hard,) find a new front end / wheels and rear shock (more hard) and sort out a new wiring loom (hardest of all).

Might have a pair of FZR400 forks for the front that would work. I really want 17" spoked wheels, which might cost a few quid. Will see how it goes!

  • Frankenbikes I would like to make:

Honda VRX with a 600 or bigger Shadow engine in.
Cagiva Mito with a big single in.
Italjet Velocifero with a 180cc 2 stroke in.

Mito with a big single has been done, Its quite silly the RS250 seems a better bet for that sort of thing.

  • But RS 250s are a bit common. And ugly.
Mito's are small and nippy. Yes it was seeing one with a Kwak 400 on Ebay a long time ago that put the idea in my head.

  • Dream frankenbikes....

NS400R motor, with Terry Sheperd 500cc barrels and spannies, shoe horned into an MC18 rolling chassis, painted up like Freddie Spencers WC winning machine...yum. V3 2strokes for victory.

Tuned to the bollox Aprillia SXV550 motor, squeezed into a Yam TZ250 or Honda RS250 Chassis. What a weapon that would be.

  • TRAINING WISE they are good tho.

maybe i got the wrong trainer, i still want to write a letter to the chairman or somebody in that company that would care about customer opinion.

  • Sounds nice. I spent a season doing spanners for a mate's TZ in the VJMC race series. We won buggerall, but got through a lot of beer and had a good time getting sunburned backs. (That's NOT a euphamism).

  • TRAINING WISE they are good tho.

    Are they fuck.

  • this lump is my ongoing (slowly) project. I'm hoping she'll be functionalish by spring. Not much left to do, going to line the tank and clean the carbs then hopefully she'll be good enough to ferry me around town. Will stick up a pic of it when its done. Got some fatter tyres on it and it's had a bit of a clean up but it should be a sub 1K project when it's finished.

Go ahead waste your time. (He didn't seem to care, just google them t see what happens) Will try and find his details, met him a few times as he was friends with an old neighbour.

    Are they fuck.

They always had great feed back. What the story?

  • My first CBT was basically done by a guy who couldn't care less. he was leaving the next day and all he wanted to do was get it over with early and go to the pub to watch the football. 3 people didn't pass that day, one of them being me. 4 people crashed their bikes because they had not been taught how to brake safely, and the radios picked up the local taxis more efficiently than they did the instructor.

2nd and 3rd time I went to Scootech in Bow, and they were very good.
Then I decided to actually pass my test and went to Kickstart Rider Training who were excellent.

  • I have one of these

    for the Vespa.
My lovely Primavera is now going off to Regal's brother now to be restored. Woo!

  • Ace, I'll make sure he does a good job. ;)
