Had a buell, that was just as bad, it is called character. Harley did go through a phase of being poorly build but they do require a hell of alot of maintenance compared to other things.

Yes I live in Dalston.
Can one even drive to Orkney?
-
• #5704
Nice, I'm just up the road. With driving/riding, the ferry ports of either Aberdeen, Scrabster, Gills Bay or John o' Groats will take you to Orkney.

The red is the "Italian Racing Red", most italian fast vehicle manufacturers would traditionally have an overweight of red vehicles to associate them with official motorsports.
Not sure about the yellow though. -

Try the ferrari badge for the yellow. Ducati and ferrari shared the prancing horse and the colours.
Red is the rosso corsa,

Storing bike in the street (covered 90% of the time) rust is already becoming an issue, I've dabbed grease on any rusty bits, and have some rust treatment I'm going to apply when I get a dry day.
Any secrets to corrosion prevention? It's mainly nuts and bolts, the stands and a couple of small areas of frame as the moment.

Honestly for all fasteners I'd go stainless even when the bike's garaged. It's not an expensive fix and not only keeps the bike looking tidier (no rusty, manky, nuts or screws) but also makes taking bits off and on easier as it's very hard (almost impossible) to round-off or bugger up stainless fasteners.

Chain wax, everywhere.
Did this with my Enfield, rode it through the winter then hit it with degreaser in the spring and it looked (almost) like new.

You can get it on amazon. It seems to work ok.

Ensis fluid, dw 6055 is the curent fav along with tectil 500. Amazingly very like ACF but alot cheaper.
Both require a thinnner film than Acf and you get it in pots so can paint it on with a brush.

wildmaurice congratulations. your account took me back to a point fifteen or so years ago when i first had an attempt at doing the cbt. i too just couldnt get the hang of it and when the others went out on the road the instructor, rightfully so, let me stay in the car park riding up and down. i would have injured myself or somebody on the open road.
lovely read, thanks.

Thanks for the helmet. It's in great condition and is definitely a step up from the last one.
Good luck with the move

Took the KTM out for the first time in probably a couple months the other day.
I'd forgotten how different 60/70mph was to 10/15mph.

So, I was going to sell this nearly 5 months ago but never got around to it etc etc blah blah...
Before it goes on Autotrader, is anyone interested in a 2014 Honda PCX 125?
It's in perfect condition with only 2170 miles on the clock. It's had one owner (me) from new and has always been kept under cover. FSH (only one service @600 miles). Comes with a givi monolock plate already installed and a kryptonite fahgettaboudit chain.
£1,750 cashSOLD -

Price feels on high side Soul. Worth getting a valuation on autotrader.

If everyone has moved on from café racers then there's more going cheap for the rest of us who like them..
