I've an icon jacket that's the same idea. Arms zip off too, dunno what's meant to happen if you crash like that though.

Dirkbang,
I looked into swapping my indicators for LED ones, and I seem to remember that you have to either change most of the wiring loom or fit a bloody great resistor somewhere, otherwise the led's will blow up, as they work at a much lower voltage than your ordinary bulbs.
The downside of that is having a big resistor somewhere on the bike, which gets very hot.Not sure I've explained that very well, I'm sure someone more techie can expand.
Or tell me I'm spouting bollocks.

Thanks Bad Science.
Having looked into it a bit more (not a great deal more grant you, just enough to pretend I know a bit more about it...), it seems I need to look into a HID headlight conversion, as it's potentially brighter and uses less draw than Halogen. I think I will have to speak to a specialist anyway as I have literally no clue when it comes to motorbike electrics.

I doubt you need a HID, I suspect the light you have is good ole tungsten and an upgrade to halogen is simple cheap and effective. If you are riding at night and outpacing a halogen light perhaps the reflector is corroded, or the lens is fogged or just dirty, or even angled too low.
HID is great but you need to be comfortable with fairly complex wiring and finding mountings for the ballast and relays. It is great especially on high powered bikes ridden fast in the dark.
Which is not something I recommend, ever! -

Cool - thanks adroit.
So is it a question of swapping bulbs, or is it a bit more complex?

Brighter bulb - swap.
HID/LED etc - more complex. -

Saw a massive gang of blokes on quads and scramblers at the junction of Eltham Hill and Westhorne Avenue at about 9pm.
They were generally being dickish and aggressive, but pulled some sick wheelies.
I was aware of the 12 O'Clock Boys in America, but had no idea this had made it over here, let alone to South East London.

There's a park behind my flat and around a dozen different kids ride motorbikes in there. It's a bit sad really: young adult men/teenagers on mostly children's scramblers. Way too small for them. And they just drone round and round getting in peoples' way and making noise. This is also SE London.

I'm got the day off tomorrow so need to go out and buy a couple of bits for the bike, cover, topbox and some more gloves. Can anyone recommend anywhere in town for such items?
basically same question - are there any bike motorbike superstores a la decathlon where you can try a range of stuff? or is variety only really online?
-
• #5220
They're usually divided by brand. Try Infinity (I use the Clapham Store). They have a load of stock in different sizes. For more fashion orientated stuff there's smaller stores everywhere, smaller stock size but tailored towards style.

Talking of which, I need to contact lots and lots of accessory and clothing manufacturers to ask about getting review kit in at work. Can anyone think of some good companies to contact? What kit do you like? What kit do you not like? What are you unsure about but would like to read a review of?

Rukka suits and Urbano Tucano gloves/lightweight waterproofs have been good for me. Dianese have come up in quality. You could review motorcycle oriented jeans they're getting more fashionable. Daytona boots are good too.

Yup. Sad that they've had a turbulent time of it recently.
Motocard. Didn't realise they are in Spain. Took about 10 days to arrive but worth the wait for the jacket at that price.
