Are you keeping your PCX?
-
• #5153
Unlikely. The missus is doing her CBT in August but she's got her heart set on a Vespa and the PCX is probably a tad too big for her.
You want?
-
• #5154
Maybe. As you know, I'm still faffing around without a motorbike or scooter...
-
• #5155
Well, i'm guessing it won't be until September so you've got a while to think about it...

My bike insurance money should be in by then. First refusal? I'm sure you've looked after it.
-
• #5157
^ of course.
It's done a shade over 1,100 miles so far, at an average of 110.5 mpg.
I'll drop you a line when i'm closer to a new bike.

Just passed my motorcycle theory test.
Will be booking a DAS course this week.
Congrats, now the fun begins!
Sweet pic, jambon!
Thanks very much, I'm just glad it didn't rain.

You definitely need a tinted or iridium visor, it makes you look 100% more badass. Best £20 I ever spent.

^ where could one procure such an item? I must admit, I see guys everyday with tinted visors and I am well jel they look so evil!
-
• #5161
Mine was an optional extra with my helmet, depends on your brand of helmet, your local bike dealer should be able to get them in. It's best leaving it to them to fit too, I've heard Arai and Shoei visors are a bitch to fit.

Mine is a Nolan - I've got an integral sun visor thingy, but want the full on anon look

See if they do one for your model?
Mine's iridium but apparently iridium isn't great for bikes as they are affected by stone chips really easily.

Woop! CBT done, had a great time on a little CG125 yesterday. Going to look for a bike this weekend hopefully. (The other half is away - so she may be in for a suprise come sunday!) Probably going to look at either a Yamaha YBR125 or a TW125. I like the look of the TW125 - big chunky chunks of tires.

cheers
naw I have the N44 - just emailed the UK Nolan distributor who said they are available to order from Italy yet sent me photos of an entirely different visor style!
well done dirkbang!

I'm pretty sure tinted visors can invalidate your insurance, not saying don't do it because I have a couple for travelling but be aware the popo might tug you. Ridiculously, sunglasses are fine. I used racevisors.co.uk too.

apparently if you have a clear visor with you also, they let you off
however knowing how snidey and pathetically petty the Polis can be to my great personal cost I wouldn't want to test it out
-

i have noted that some tinted visors have daytime use only printed on them. so as long as your using them during the day then you should be fine.
the same applies to daytime only MOT (regular test with advisory on certificate) so you can ride your headlight free motorcycle

In the old US of A, if you ride with an open face helmet you have to have eye protection so sunglasses or goggles etc. Makes sense I guess but then in certain states you don't even need a lid! Oh and there's only a couple of States where you can filter (lane split), anyway I digress.

Hope you had a good day, Jambon. Where's the footage!?

^ ace! so scary!

• #5172
Thanks! Watching my laptop attempting to render the 4K footage was pretty scary also, thought it was going to blow. See my 'moment' at 01:06? Probably didnt look that bad.

So I have my CBT on Sunday after putting it off for about 8 years.
Going to get a 125.
Any recommendations for a noob?
-

Keep the shiny side up.

• #5175
don't lean! - actually do, a bit!
dunno about 125 machines though - a grown up will be along in a while though no doubt
Cool. There's plenty of good reviews out there for it.
I will be getting the DCT (automatic) version as it will pretty much exclusively be used for commuting.
