This just turned up in the mail.
Padding it with Gel pads from an old bike seat and D30 sheet I got dontated FirstGear Introduces d3o Armor for Motorcycle Jackets - Chrome World - YouTube
(what d30 is)
So should be really comfy and shock absorbing.
Interesting
Is the seat pan mounted on springs, or hard fixed to the frame.
I am a big fan of using an MTB shock on a hardtail, as springs just bounce you out the seat all the time
I got springs at teh mo, but it actually rode better when the pan was fixed straight to the frame

Well get one of those, then buy a bike, then join me and the rest of Chipperfields on our next trip to France...

One can hope. I got a full licence, I sold my last bike; a RGV250 in 1996 after a friend who I used to ride with really smashed himself up and scared me away as we used to ride pretty stupid.
I think I'm now finally older and wiser enough that I would ride with slightly lager amount of sense.
I'd love an Honda VTR SP1, I had a spin on one a few years ago and fell in love.
But something like this floats my boat.

That's lovely, but you'd have no fillings left after a day in the saddle

Current seat is mounted on springs so will go for that as well on this.
The springs are from a digger and are very stiff but with enough give so they don't
bounce you out.
The way it's set up I can lock the seat directly to the frame as well.
I guess I will play around abit. -

Get a denpr/ural seat. The single rubber seat one.
Most comfortable I have ever used for miles in the winter.

From a mate:
If any of you biker types were wondering if these Michelin Pilot Road 3's lived up to their hype in terms of wet weather performance, the answer is unequivocally YES!! These things are freakin awesome. lets see how they last, but in yesterdays sleet/rain I went out and did some ABS testing on quiet roads where I could have run and skidded quite easily on my boot soles, it was like the road was dry!

Had the old Pilot Roads (prolly v1) on a Yammy XT660X a few years ago, was getting 1000 miles at most out of a rear. Newer ones are probably better.

Already have a Davida Jet, so I suppose I'm after a full face.
I used to use a Schuberth, so I might try one of those flip front ones. -

ok so pulled the carbs off again last night, after buying some compressed air to give it a proper clean. There was gunk (rusty colour crap) in them again which I guess means the tank has rubbish in it and needs a cleaning out. Any recomended methods for doing this? Come across a few online already obviously but everyone seems to have their own idea.
I also just ordered a new fuel line/in line fuel filter.
Tim, the amount of time you're spending on here...are you in the market for something?
