In the spirit of offensive motorcyclewear, this is my current favourite jacket. Bad photo sorry.
Please, if anyone comes across dirt-cheap vintage leather jackets that are louder than this please let me know. More offensive the better. I love the loud.

Nice! A guy at work has that (with all the luggage) and it looks great.
The BMW dealer I contacted for a test ride have been unresponsive so I might look elsewhere for an S1000R. Annoying.

Oh wow that is a really good deal, would mean I can sell my CBR privately and dump that money into a new (boring) car.
-
• #15631
Yup - definitely appear to be the best deals in the country right now.
The only thing to factor is a delivery charge which will be about £200 for me to Cambridge. Seems fair!

NICE!
That'll shit all over the tracer.

I stand by my comments ;)
I still want an r80g/s but the GS full of fuel is more top heavy than the multi stationary. But on the move they are better. Thought about doing the BMW off road days? Learning how to pick up a loaded bike is a unique technique.

Riding a bike after its been sitting unused for a bit - say 2-4wks.
What do you do, rag it Italian tune style, or run it gently?
I've been letting it warm up for a while, followed by low revs only, then high revs with a few rince outs.
(air-cooled twin)

Carb or injection?
I'd start the bike with minimal revs, give it a minute up right and then drive off gently till it was warm and then ride it like I stole it.

That looks mint! Love the satin finish on the tank. Looks like a total motorway muncher.

Thanks. Got to keep the bike minty fresh.
I’ve done nearly 900km in one day, down to my parents place in France, more than once. Including two up with full luggage too. Definitely does motorway mile munching very well.

Square tyres ;)

Slightly less to me and a lot further south but maybe it’s coming from somewhere else.
Looks like there’s a solid profit if I pay the balloon and sell privately at the end too - dealer and BMW contributions effectively cover the cost of the finance. -
• #15647
Nice. You going for it?

Yay, desert ish and mountain ride today as it wasn’t too hot. Bridgestone S2s are wearing pretty quick - grip well though. Bike is running great, even if I still can fix the soft front brake lever.

Yes, just waiting on the finance. If that doesn’t work out I’ll rethink - possibly loan myself the money and get one 2-3 years old if I can find the right spec.
Beasting. That's solid numbers and the 2% lower overall does make it pretty tempting stuff.
Reckon you'll be better off in the long run as GS's simply refuse to depreciate by much really. Not that the Tracers do either so you'll get good returns. 2015 ones still refuse to drop below £5.5k from my hunting.
Some full panniers and engine guards and you're well on your way to midlife crisis utopia.
