Get some gloves, makes it easier on the hands.
Now monster needs new tyres should I fit cut slicks that I get for free (ex race tyres that have really worn edges so I will extra posing points down the biker hang out,) Or buy a set of maxxis and see what they are like? But have to pay?
Cut slicks will need a bit more riding to warm up, and be more gentle/smooth till they re warm.

I'm quite interested in getting into escort riding etc but don't think my bike (Harley Sportster) is very suitable.

If they're free and not worn out, fit the cut slicks. They probably won't warm up unless they are heavily cut but as long as you're smooth, it won't really matter.

Ok a truth, never ridden cut slicks before, thats why I'm pre occupied. Have ridden supercorsas before but that was about it.

They're just tyres...if you ride smoothly, you should be fine. Unless they're heavily cut, you really will have problems getting them to work as they were intended. It's really difficult to get race compound road tyres hot enough to work as intended on the road. Unless they are actually HOT and properly sticky, decent road compounds are grippier.
You might also find they're a bit more unstable and they'll wear out in less than 1000miles. (no prob if they're free)

Most of my friends who track their cars run touring car slicks as they are ~£30 each, as opposed to ~£200 each for R888's, and the slicks will outgrip them (once hot enough, which is a challenge all of its own).
They are utterly terrified of rain however.
I'm guessing that cut motorbike slicks, stone cold, are going to be a bundle of laughs in the rain?
Not that this is really going to be an issue of course.

Yup - same deal. Race compound rubber for mobikes just isn't as grippy as road stuff unless it's scorchio. It's very difficult to get it scorchio without riding like a complete twunt.
(The only exceptions to this I've found, were Avon AM20s in race compound and Dunlop KR364s - both of those were SOOOOO soft and had so much tread, they warmed up really easily. In fact the biggest problem with both was stopping the b'stards melting altogether, sort of like racing wets on a dry, hot day.)
Speaking of which, the right shoulder of my front tyre has peeled completely, it looks very funny but I doubt HM Constabulary would share my amusement. Must. Buy. New. Tyres.

At Combe last year Gary was running so much camber, then driving like a grandma, that he ruined the inner shoulder and left the outer 40% of the tyre pretty much virgin.
Hey ho, at least they're cheap.

Ahhhh - Castle'doom' was the first track I ever rode around. Jim Moodie was testing the Sega Suzuki GSXR750 TT Bikes there and gave me a healthy clip on the shoulder as he flew past me on the RH kink at the end of the front straight. It actually made me quite happy at the time.
Right. G, sort yourself out with a new bike. My kids' mum is taking them to California for the first three weeks of the summer holiday (from mid-July) - nice window for our trip to France. Let's get something in the diary...
