  • hi sewing circle...a sewing circle, howver you look at it that can only be a good thing! Is there enough tweed for a cap? baker boy style though a tiny bit larger? Bespoke cycling gear is surely on the horizon...

I have a berni, whoever got the bernina, well done!! they are bullet proof, the colnago of the sewing world!!!

sorry the bags gone, it was realy random odds and sods, i wasnt going to go through it. i did have a place i took all my old fabric and it would get recycled into blankets for the homeless but alas that is miles away now, i did love the idea that homeless people would be wearing a tiny bit of chanel. i need to find a cloth recycling place again

  • nevermind.

  • do you mean the place in canning town?

  • I Borrowed a machine and have been having a play on it, made a few things but my stitching needs work.

Did make these which i am pretty happy with. Based on a few designs, took what i liked from each and had a go. Hope no one thinks its in bad taste, just made them for myself as opposed to buying some.

    (moved from DIY bag thread)

  • nice. you should make some tweed ones for the tweed run. there would be a few takers i reckon.

    well done.

  • I got it!! I made a pillowcase today

I know a pillowcase isn't as cool as anything you lot are doing, but it's my first project outside of the course. (in the course we mad a skirt)

Nice one Jaquie. I have the same and they are great. They recommended it to me in the handcraft tailoring course I made at LCF.

  • I can't get my 'Jones' working. The thread just comes out of the needle everytime I run it. Anyone experience this?
I may be in the market for your Singer Smeear.

Also, does anyone have a patter for a winter cap?

  • check that the spool is turning freely. in fact check all tensions.

  • for those interested in the sewing classes my friends are organising this is a link to their website. i think the first class is on the 23rd of this month. its in deptford so if anybody fancies going to the royal albert for a glass of beer afterwards ............

    www.craftybitches.org

I think I was the only forumonger there. They still all went for beers after which I couldn't make.
Anyways, These lady's are brilliant! I went in having no clue about sewing, and have left with a couple of hems up my sleeve (pun intended).
I seriously recommend these people if you want sewing lessons. Brilliant.
    Thanks Coppi!

I signed up for the next set of classes.
    (i hope)
