As above, Dyad probably your best bet. Cliffhanger if you want more width and don't mind the extra weight.

Fun... on a 29er?!
A likely story.

I've been getting a little bit twitchy about 29ers for a while now.
I went balls deep with the idea at the weekend and spaffed all over a Kinesis MaxLight.
I really don't know what I'm doing with this thing, it just looks like loads of fun.
I'll get some pics up when it comes, but I expect to have loads of problems with crazy mad things like "Hydraulics" and "Tubeless" things..... -

....also - where does one ride ones 29er?

Looks EXACTLY the kind of shit I bought this monster for!
In the meantime, as I'm new to London and have no friends, can I ply someone with beer/drugs/money/'favours' to help me set this bugger up when I get it? I like friends also....

With a couple of pints in me, the rugby on TV and the wife asleep, I've been left to my own idle thoughts. Inevitably, those thoughts have turned to the idea of building a 29er for trails fun and possible commuting joy (with slicks).
I rented a cheap one on the Isle of Wight a couple of weeks ago and I'm sold. I must have one.
As usual, I don't really know what I'm doing but I was thinking of an On-One Inbred frame. Suspension forks? Why do I keep seeing people in MTB threads praising tubeless tyres, when our very own mdcc_tester has disapproved of their use? I was considering a 1x? setup. 9 or 10, whatever's cheaper or easier to get hold of.
Then the remaining components like wheels, a saddle and some stickers etc.
This but with gears?

Got one of these for when I go back to Ireland. Awesome and cheap.

Tubeless tyres on an off-road bike means more grip. Can take a bit to set up but once done it's a revelation.

Citation needed. I've been tubeless on my MTB since 2002, and will probably go road tubeless at my next tyre change. I disapprove of crappy so-called tubeless, which is responsible for nearly all of the bad press tubeless gets. Stick to UST-certified rims and tyres and all will be well.

Thanks. This ^ is useful.

I'm determined to find this citation now :)
It was road-specific but something about tubs being from the stone age or something. Probably in the past 6 months. The search feature on here never seems to work properly for me.
I hope I've not made it up.

Currently it has a a 29+ front end and rigid forks, but I have some suss forks etc....I'm affected by cider now, but it's nice!

Very nice. How tall are you?

And all this tubeless stuff is confusing me now. Are road tubeless rims also UST certified?
I've managed to go 30 years ignoring anything tubeless.
-
• #4721
I've been confusing tubeless and tubular. Fucks sake.

This is "clipless" pedals all over again!

Are road tubeless rims also UST certified?
Some are, notably Campag/Fulcrum and Shimano
