Trial something new over the course of the hour long 6 vs 6 match! It'll be polo, but not as anyone knows it.

We played 4 v 4 last night at mitch. It was fun but chaotic. You'd need to play on a football pitch for 6 v 6 or just play grass polo instead - 5 v 5 with subs!

Could be adapted for a price; a company could conceivably be talked into doing small run of prototypes of polosized goals ...

Fuck it. Maybe instead of constantly getting dissed by Franklin we should just start our own business. Track down their suppliers and design and produce under our own brand.

just get in touch with someone who sells their product on ioffer. they likely know the guy that operates their factory in china and they are usually very willing to sell direct at cost + a few %

The Franklin ball supplier factory? Yes!

I'd like to try this. I think we are eventually going to have to have a crossbar.
if we don't have one now, why will we HAVE to have one in the future?
exactly. A cross bar stops the fluidity of riding through the cones, reaching above, forcing your bike in to block the goalie, etc...
Putting a cross-bar in will significantly change game-play, as we will no longer be able to ride through the goal - and every time the posts get moved, the cross-bar will either get displaced, or, if the bar is permanently fixed to the posts, the whole goal will fall over.
Anyone want to continue this discussion after Karlsruhe?

I am getting some free netting (the fine stuff they put round scaffolding) next Thursday hopefully so that will complete the Proto 1 goal. Should be on court the following weekend where we can experiment, see what works/doesn't. Only way to find out.

Resurrect!
Is there consensus on goal size/dimensions yet. We're going to make some (collapsible) ones here in birmingham. We've got the 2010 Grief master spec. Any tips?

footing is quite key i think. Our BFF ones had tyres underneath to keep them from moving too much. Also the uprights need to stay UPRIGHT.

180cm, seems to be becoming the standard
-
• #67
180 not less for sure.
For height, it looks like European like lil' more than one wheel, and US prefere higher than saddle. -
• #68
between 80cm and 90cm high will be fine
-
• #69
I think top tube height on a medium sized bike is good, is that what they are now?
-
• #70
now are a bit bigger than a 700 wheel, I think KA are 80cm, as are the ones Gabes order
-
• #71
Yeh, I think a little higher would be more fun.

US prefere higher than saddle.
Interesting. I haven't been following this.

From watching their videos, it seems to me that North Americans are using ice hockey goals (probably out of convenience as much as anything else). Can anyone confirm or deny?

Confirm.

For the BFF tournament here in barcelona we used some decathlon football goals adapted in height.
It was 2x1meters little big but was better fore more goals and less goalkeepers.http://lebp.freeforums.org/bff-barcelona-dec-9-12-t14-50.html#p368
It had net.
