I've got Thursday off this week. I need to go to some galleries, but a ride sounds good too.
Something not too hilly... I've built the fixed back up. -

Are you riding the red track bike?
-
• #304
Putting it together now.... Might even have an evening spin on it.

I'm popping down the shops in a minute; going to do it fixed. Anyone want to join me? Easy pace.

Can you get some more milk, since it was you who drank the fucking last lot.

haha, caught out.

Pretty unlikely since the milk was *off *this morning. Two guesses who left the fridge door open....
Anyway no one turned up so I went on my own. Quarter of a mile, 15mph ave, 1 metre of ascent according to the Garmin. Will upload pics to Flickr later. -

that sounds epic.
i wish i'd have known about this sooner.maybe next year?
-
• #310
then you could have flounced in style...

To be honest I wouldn't do it again fixed. I was ok for the first hundred yards but then I really started to suffer. I think I could get under the five minute mark on gears.

Are you taking enough bonk rations on this ride to keep energy levels up?

Will, how much chamois creme did you use for a ride like that?
-
• #314
Will, you didn't kill a cat or fall off owing to your worn cleats, did you?
-

Guys, thanks for the support!
I'm thinking for the next one I will try to make it to the cash point and back; maybe a night ride. Will let you all know so you can sign up if you want.
Gears only though, lol. -

Thanks for the write up, Will. Very informative. I'd love to go on a ride like that one day but I'm usually too tired from working on the bike all week!
I've been planning a night ride for a couple of hours now, it's going to start at my building, carrying on across Vallance Rd to the corner shop to buy credit, and back. Kind of like a wait & return.
I've been thinking of drilling my fork for a brake, first time I will have ridden that distance fixed! I'll let you know how I get on. I don't think I have time to get the drill out.

I think 'micro-rides' are going to be big next year.
-
• #318
didn't this micro ride joke already get made earlier on in the year?
with the ride up oxford street? or was that last year? -
• #319
think that was this year.
I'm going to work tomorrow. About 5 miles, setting off at 10:30, average speed depending on how late I sleep in, Bow to Holborn.- Sumo

serious post shocker - it's so nice outside I'm thinking of doing the bridges route down to kew from covent garden (so starting out going down waterloo bridge), then back up to north london via hampstead heath, leaving in about 20 minutes or so if anyone's interested...

Well maybe if someone hadn't broken the fridge door when they came stumbling in drunk, there wouldn't be the need for all these "micro-rides"

I'm loving this on going domestic. Like Eastenders.

and maybe, just maybe, if you even bothered to so much as *look *at me these days I wouldn't need to drink. What about *my *womanly needs?

Well maybe if you bothered to put a bit of make up on and make an effort once in a while I'd be a bit more inclined to look at you.
there's Dunwich by day ride next Saturday
