  • I just saw this. Very sad news. I am glad that he was peaceful in his last minutes.
A hug to John, Em, James, Dropout and all the people that made his last days better.
    Love Tika

  • no, from now on we are going to celebrate " to fiddy"

Here here! To fiddy! Chin chin and bottoms up!

  • I didn't know Paul well but had the pleasure of riding with him on the Clacton jaunt and sharing a pint afterwards. It's a warm legacy to have generated so many good vibes on this forum. I hope I can leave this life with as many good wishes.

  • .. I've nothing to add to the eloquent posts above, other than I'll miss you.

  • A couple of things have kept me from going out this evening but I'll be here at home raising some glasses to Paul. As others said, NYE will now always be a toast to Fiddy for me.

  • Definitely, bottoms (fanny?) up from me at midnight at NYE now on too

  • At a party at the moment and found myself thnking about the bigman.

Drove past the royal inn on the park where I met Paul for the first time and he wobbled away g
from the pub wasted hopeing for directions back west and heading directly into oncoming traffic, absolutely brilliant!

Thought you were a nutter at the time and got to know you over the last couple of years, you always had time for a chat whether it was about the latest project or helping me with my house and plans to extend it all the while telling me of your plans for your new housing project.

I will miss you, shed a tear earlier reading some of the lovely things people have said in this thread, all ican say is that I hope I have half as many people who care about me when I head to the velodrome in the sky, and I can wait to see you there and find out what crazy machine you are riding!

  • Sad news, RIP.

  • raise a glass

  • Mine's ready.

Champagne tonight and a bloody mary in the morning.

  • Will be raising a glass in a few hours.

    The good stuff of course.

  • The New Year won't be the same without you!

  • To Fiddy!

    <3

  • Been raising a glass to the old cunt all day, feel proper fooked now... Luv ya, Paul... x

  • Here here! Chin chin to Fiddy!

  • We need to do a Century for fiddy.

  • me and MOC raised a glass of champagne to him at midnight.
    Hail Fiddy!

  • Bless him, I only met Paul once - at Oxford Circus cutting a posh seatpost deal - he turned up 20 minutes late, some crap about traffic in Richmond holding him up - but I suspect he was posing at traffic lights with his ridiculously high end road bike - we spent 15 seconds talking about the seatpost deal and 40 minutes talking about bikes before he had to go off to meet some folk - lovely fella'.

    :(

    :)

  • Very sad news indeed, I have a glass in my hand now and it is raised to fiddy and my dad, may both rest in peace.

  • We all toasted Paul at midnight tonight, and will do so from now on.

  • I have been following this thread for a while and although i never met you, you seem like a great guy with a passion for cycling; and i would like to pay my respects.

    RIP Paul

P.S props to all you guys who went to visit and support him in his last few weeks.

  • Sad way to start the year :-( RIP

  • ive not met any of you, im up north, but i feel for you guys having lost my friend Kyle 2 months back
i just read the whole thread when i got in, you should all be proud that you showed him how loved he was, may you all have a safe new year
    Ride in Peace Paul

  • We toasted Paul in snowy New England tonight with a 3 foot long drinking horn filled with home made mead.

I can only picture what his reaction to that would have been

    "Oh. That's marvelous!"
