  • Not having much luck

  • I have finally been contacted by a Belgian supplier of lightweight spokes and await with bated breath the quotation for the supply of 67* of the aforementioned items.

I pray the Sterling / Euro relationship does not render this a wasted communication.

    *includes spares, fuck-knucks

  • I ordered a titanium cassette lockring yesterday. WTF?

    (I has issues)

  • My girlfriend now has as many bikes as I do- this is completely unaceptable.

  • @ adoubletap - sapim? Or someone else?

I'm not allowed to buy anything at the moment until I've paid off the interest free card I used to build my bike :(

  • A shop (hopefully) supplying Sapim's CX-Ray lightweight racing bicycle spokes at less than £2.00 each.

  • I bought many things and then wished i hadn't. I'm waiting an appropriate amount of time so as to not look rash and foolish before I try and sell the things I bought back to the same pool of people i bought them from... although it needs to be before the end of the month really.

The correct ratio should never drop below 2:1. Sell something, prostitution (you or her, it's your choice), or, dare I say it, due to the glut of vunerable old ladies in the Westminster area, some robbing.

  • Yesterday I bought a headset and a brake lever. I keep thinking I'm done buying stuff for this bike but then I remember that I may want to be able to turn and/or stop the thing.

  • So what stem did you go for?
Today I hope to be purchasing some SPD-R from adoubletap

  • ^if the stupid twat had remembered to take them off the table and put them in his bag this morning you definitely would have been :(

    Tomorrow definitely.

  • I want to order some luggage. Unfortunately there is no maker of wonderfully old style bags in modern fabrics that have a unicorn embroided onto the front. This makes me sad.

On the happy side, I rode the Mather for the first time, and it felt wonderful. I now get why you've all been using risers. Might put some risers on the Serotta now.

  • That's right - bicycle talk

You got new frame yet??? For the league????

    Could always embroider your own.

I'm guessing there was no head wind ;)

  • today i plan to purchase a brake cable.

curse this millionaire's lifestyle of compulsive spending on unnecessary items.

  • I'm thinking of buying a Hope Pro 2 front hub, and converting it into fixed with a bolt on cog... Anyone done this with a Hope? I'm not sure about the spacing/chain line...

  • So what stem did you go for?

The cheapest reasonable 130mm 4-bolt O/S I could find. The Condor (which is too small for me, especially for track), is getting a last ditch revamp.

See the above. I won't buy a properly fitting Manchester-BB frame until I've justified the purchase with a few encouraging results. Gives me time to save up a few hundred quid too.

I have just built one of these into a front wheel. Could measure the hub center to edge of disc mount distance tonight if it would help.

Did you sort that whole HTA/fork length/offset/rake malarky?

  • I just ordered a box of used knickers from Japan.

  • Sorry WRONG FORUM WRONG FORUM!!!!!

  • Sort of. Discovered a set-up that would give me the trail desired. Finding this set-up on a manufactured fork may be difficult (although Cohen, who is also trying to achieve the same thing with the same frame seems to have found a couple of things - one being very cheap custom forks).

(This wheel will be for that bike. As is the 48 hole hub. I'm hoping this thing will be strong, sturdy, stable, and fun as hell).

Is there no standard disc mounting position? I'll check Hope's web page and see if they've got dimensions.

I was kind of hoping you would have gone for the Nelson, then we could have looked like some kind of team...with me as the leader.... and you leading me out/blocking, etc etc

  • The Nelson's geometry isn't right for me. I'll probably be getting a Pre-Cursa or something equally cheap and suitably long. And I'll make the switch to 144 BCD at the same time.

I'm sure we'll still look like a team, apart from the nights I ride in GRPT colours… when I will do some blocking ;)

  • I ordered an 8" digital photo frame

..im going mount it on my bars and have a slideshow of princess diana on loop
