  • A steamroller with fat tires fitted on Ellipses....(?) Something's not right.

  • Front radial looks shite on that bike.

  • Does look an Ellipses, very silly as the rims is far too narrow for such big tyres.

  • Ed, post a pic of your CCheck, pls

  • Waiting for a compact drop bar at the moment - it's a little too long with that bar;

  • Lovely, ES.

  • Yes, nice build. :-)

  • liking the cross check Ed. I can recommed FSA vero bars - compact, comfortable and cheap which is a winning combination.

I really like those white industries cranks, was toying with the idea of getting some for mine, but I think some STI shifters will be next on my list (9 speed shimano if anyone has any they want to shift..?)

  • The gearing is very much a lightweight touring set-up.

46-30 chainring paired with an 8 speed 11-28 cassette, the middle lined up to the 46t perfectly, as that give me my idea gear ratios.

I got Ritchely Classic compact, short reach of 73mm instead of 80mm (FSA), and it's silver too, go with the bike, downside? it's still a tad long, ugh! 60mm stem to go.

  • Needs more spacers.

  • Here's my Creamroller with a few additions:
    Fizik Ladies Arione Donna saddle
3T ErgoNova Pro Alloy Road handlebars
    Time ATAC XS Carbon pedals
    Thompson seat post
    Thompson 70mm stem
    Lizard Skins DSP bar tape
    Sram Aluminium S500 levers

    ...and one of Harry :)

why don't you stick an in-line seat post on there?

  • Very smart, MM. What levers have you installed. Bet it looks even better from the crank side...

  • I'm going to give drops a try out next too. Probably gonna get the FSA Vero compacts, and suitable stem. Which levers did you go for on your builds Missmouse and Ed?

changed the geometry, bringing the saddle too far forward is not a good move I think.

  • How about the Great North Way - Potters Bar to Letchworth - lunch then back

    http://www.greatnorthway.org.uk/

32 miles each way, but first you have to get to Potters Bar.

Reposting as everybody ignored this - anyone up for a Surly ride? I'm suggesting the GNW, but open to offers.

  • Now that I got a CC - yep.

The levers SB and fasih are Sram Aluminium S500 - forgot to say!

  • Very nice but they must have cost a pretty penny. Is the reach adjustable on them?

  • actually it's reasonably priced, cost more than a cheap levers but a lots more comfortable, my current levers on the CC is a genetic Condor branded one, but compared to the SRAM, the hood shape is really boxy and uncomfortable.

The SRAM hood is a perfect balance between a flat surface with a curve on the edge - really comfortable to rest my hand on.

the carbon one cost a lots more.

  • Only an utter fool would buy the carbon levers and then suggest his gf get the aluminium ones.

  • ^ you said it!

  • bit annoying that there's not much choice of retail to buy the S500 from, especially when most of them sound a bit dodgy, do you know where you get your?

  • How do they sound dodgy?
    I got mine at CycleSurgery.
    Love 'em.

  • Cause they're all website that doesn't really have reputation, Cycle Surgery doesn't have any on their website.
