No in fact it makes sense to do so. If a wheel is correct for the rear it's over built for the front and if it's correct for the front it's over built for the rear.
Then I take much comfort in that fact.
But talk about sleepless nights. How could I let that happen, I mean, really? Will I be able to leave that bike like that for the next ride, or will I have to fix it?

i am considering my next upgrade for wheels also. currently rocking formula to open sports. thinking the only proper upgrade would be phils to cxp 33, but, whilst being fucking lush, makes little sense having a wheelset worth as much as the frame, on a bike that i just rag around. i mean, sure, if stuff gets nicked now its gutting, but its fucking formula to open sport, hardly anything to cry over. but phil to cxp 33? that shit would be upsetting.
Fuji Track with CXP33 and Phils here. Rides nice. I realise that my wheels cost more than the whole bike OTP. Meh.

heres a noob question. What kind of wheel protection is he using? their not just normal track nuts.
I'm thinking about buying some phils hubs, dont want anyone pinching my wheels. -
• #139
It's not protection.
Phils come with allenkey bolts to a femal axle, rather than the usual male axle & tracknuts. -

out of interest what other hubs would rival Phil's for quality? Personally I really don't like the way they look, except the low flange version.
-
• #144
No expert, but White Industries do some nice hubs (bolt on cog). Royce if you have the dosh. Phil (low flange [this year]) still wins though.
