Marlon, you know full well that I don't take part in the "gossipy bullshit" threads, but enough is enough. People shouldn't bully nice people off this forum. Its not my forum, but I feel that just as some may "joke around" to their heart's content, that still, its wrong to go so far as to push respected members away from here.

Who should have the right to do that? Its not all about HTFU, but also about respecting others on here as different characters, but still valid members.

i am not sure spite is accepted on here. i am not sure i have even seen spite in earnest. just sometimes immaturity and misunderstanding.

95% of the threads on this forum are full on good shit. let's not imitate the crap of modern media and focus on the bullshit.

i love the lack of moderation on this forum, and velocio's commitment to that. or a sense of community moderation. and by and large it works. and we are a long way away from needing to press the panic button.

Well, the story is about the 'feud' between Pisty, Epi and Donut. This was construed by many to be Pisty bullying Epi; which he and others deny. A lot of this "bullying" centred around her private life; which is where Donut comes in. Again there is the counter argument to this about what is private and what is public and who made the former in to the latter.
Ultimately Velocio decided that, after a few warnings, Pisty was continuing a vendetta which would otherwise have faded away. So he got banned for a few days; twice. The second time Donut also got banned. Then Pisty made a comment about a photo in a thread that was clearly another snide dig at Epi; he and his supporters might well deny this but they'd be fooling no one. So that was the final straw; 12 people reported his post and david followed through with his threat to ban him for an indefinite period.
The 'bullying' could be said to be being continued with this thread which more than insinuates that Epi is to blame and that Pisty has been unfairly treated for voicing his opinion. I doubt that any disinterested party sees his treatment that way.
No one gets banned for disagreeing with another member or most of us would be gone by now. Those disagreements can even be couched in personal and vitriolic terms without it provoking much protest. The forum is a treasure trove of robust insult and put downs. That is different from a personal vendetta and different from when someone has had several warnings and chooses not to stop doing what they have been repeatedly told not to do by the owner and moderator of the forum.

jonny, I started the thread, The Very Banned, because I truly believed that Paul Michel was deeply misunderstood. It shows DK's class, that he didn't let the forum know about the personal emails he recieved from Paul, that were..........deeply misguided and unsavoury.

I think VB/DK's patience is a natural treasure, though I'm sure that even a cloudy crystal ball will show that the route down this road could end badly. All I'm saying is that there shouldn't be so much of the personal nastiness. Who am I to think this? Nobody really, just that I highly value this forum, but see some very rough seas ahead, if spite is allowed as par-for-the-course.

Maybe others haven't seen it as I have, and maybe I'm just one of those very dainty and sensitive people. Maybe.

Oh, by the way jonny, I have met you, as the tragic sleepy photo of you I posted on your birthday thread showed.......so I know very well that you are not thick. That said, I regret the support I'm witnessing for what I consider to be spitefulness. Okay, you don't see it that way, as is your right.

Probably, maybe even most definitely, right on both counts. But something had to give, and it was DK's call. I didn't envy him, as it was never going to be a totally popular choice.

Anyway, the upgrade on the server worked, so you could say that we haven't lost Pisty at all. His words will always be there for us to cherish. And, those who are personal friends with him, will no doubt still meet him at Kennedy's or Southies.
