There's obviously been quite a bit of talk about high-end record cleaning but what should I be looking at for the cheap end? The Spice Girls Greatest Hits album I bought the other week was covered in bits of crap fresh out of the packaging.

This is my "set up".
I hardly used the (expensive) Tonar Wetgoat brush.
The 2 black records airers were purchased from Analogue Seduction.
The most important tool is my paint pad (brand "Monarch" iirc, off Homebase) and those "superior" micro-fibre towels (Amazon).
The rack has been a big improvement (6 slots) too compared to having just those 2 airers.

I'm a total convert to cleaning my records and won't play nowadays a second-hand record unless it's been cleaned.

Fat Cat was great. The path between there and the Rough Trade under Slam City Skates was well trodden by me in the 90s

Received a nice freebie in the package alongside something I ordered from Discogs

I had something similar recently, they had used two old records as stiffeners. One was an album of science fiction theme tunes played by an orchestra!

Thought I’d see if there might be any interest in the two LPs detailed below:

R. L. Burnside - Mississippi Hill Country Blues.

Both are brand new and still in shrink wrap.

Ah, North Mississippi, possibly my favourite place in the world... Great records, haven't heard those RL recordings...

There are some LPs on swing master (the label that fat possum reissued those Burnside recordings from) that are great and available very cheaply. There is a discogs seller who must have masses of stock and does 3 for the price of 2

@pjay - I can't remember. It made me laugh though, especially when I told my mate and he had the space themes album as a kid!! I have just had a look and it was Geoff Love and his orchestra (great name). The other 'stiffener' was Roy Orbison!

Found my OG pressings of the first Panther Burns single today, very exciting, thought they were lost... Bittersweet because this particular record is housed in a hand printed envelope which has been sealed!

Gonna have to try the kettle trick unless anyone else has a bright idea? Hilarious, they are amazing artifacts but would love to see the vinyl... 🤭🤣

Anyone ever tried the Lfgss weekly photography competition?
