That is quite a small budget these days. What kind and size of room are you going to use it in and will you need chest thumping bass?

(You'll struggle to have chest thumping bass for that money.)

Q Acoustics 3020 would be on a lot of short lists for the speakers, second hand is a gamble but might pay off.

A little amp from SMSL would be a worthwhile consideration too. As you've got a turntable with built in phono stage you might ask the amp+speakers question in the hi-fi appreciation thread.

Edifier speakers worth a look for your budget.

I got the 3020i as part of deal from Sevenoaks audio. They were mint boxed for many years before I pulled them out to try in a kitchen. Really enjoyed them in that space. Ended up using a Nakamichi Soundspace which I have a silly soft spot for.

This is superb, highly recommend it.

It is for a small-ish living room that doesn't have an abundance of soft furnishings. Chest thumping bass not a necessity, thankfully.

I think the "small speakers" boxed up in my loft [I saw today] are 2020i. Oak or something light veneer. Not bad condition IIRC. Let me know if you still need speakers @Calben

Do you get a noise either from the belt or platter with this? Mine’s quite noisy, but don’t want to go through rigmarole of sending back to online retailer if there’s an easy fix.

I love the random records some sellers use as stiffeners.

It's in great condition, and hasn't seen that much use. I had to use an aftermarket weight as the original disappeared in the last move, but it works the same.

I want to get Mrs. Nahguavkire a record player setup for her birthday and don't really know where to begin...
I'd been tempted by the Pro-ject T1/ Sonos Five bundle as it seems pretty fuss-free and uncomplicated but it's a little bit more than I'd like to spend ideally...
There's also this Pro-ject Juke Box E HiFi bundle from Thomann...

I'm not entirely set on Pro-ject but they do seem really nice, I've had a look at Rega and Audio Technica too but not really sure which direction to go in terms of buying separates rather than a bundle (will need speakers/ cables/ amp if applicable too) and I guess budget wise somewhere around the €500-600 mark would be good, less is ok too if there's some top tip bit of kit that looks nice and works great for less!

Big week-end ahead for crate-diggers with Twickenham record fair on Saturday and Walthamstow on Sunday (same organiser as the bigger one in Hackney/Stokey).

Yes it is at the Truman's. The space is shared with some vintage clobber event.
No idea what stalls will be there sorry. I expect it to be a mixed bag of mostly old/pre-owned records.
