There are more than two ways of stopping on an icy road...
I found that falling on my face was quite effective. What do you mean? Surely you're not about to defend brakeless? I thought you were one of the sane ones?
I bought a bargain price Thompson stem for my Bob off the forum. I think the bag thing is really pointless and wasteful though. Why on earth would you need a bag for your stem once it's mounted on your bike?

yes. thats the other way i'm referring to.

I love that about bike parts, that certain companies specialise so completely - Thomson with stems and posts, Chris King with headsets, Sugino with cranks.
This is the look I'm going for with the Surly - crudcatcha & snow tires optional..
Oh and will probably put a Flite on it eventually. Wont be rideable until March - just in time for the Spring, woot.
Looks very nice, I wouldn't bother with the shit guard or snow tires though, give it a month and the roads will be fine (I hope).
Also is that a brooks on a 'roller?

friends got brakes haha. tbh i just want a front brake for emergency sake. i dont feel compfortable riding fast on roads i dont really know especially if theres a hill, tight bend. if i had a front brake id ride faster because i know i could easily slow down and id feel safer riding. im not gonna be using the brake normally just incase i have another one of those i cant stop moments haha

Thats the reason I run a front brake.

Hahahahahahhaa. I don't have a brakeless bike for fashion reasons, just how I have always had my bikes. Would put a brake on one day maybe, but I know it would never get used and I would take it off. Ha.

so nice. think im gonna save up for a super pista instead of a lo pro. might get a leader. pretty similar and a lot cheaper!

No I only run a brake because I've only been riding fixed for 3-4 months and I'm still getting used to it.
I can imagine that I might end up going brakeless one day, but not for the forseable future.

Don't do it unless you are totally happy with the idea. As I said earlier, I have always been brakeless. This taught me a lot more bike control, and also awareness. Might buy a lid when I get some more cash sorted though...

Oh and Sam. Get a leader 722ts. That is the steel one. Saw one in TFG at the end of last year and it looked dope.
Dunno what I think about Aluminium frames...

Doesn't look that bad to be honest, will be great for polo... once a few games get going!!
-
• #91
Yeah, looks clean. Just wait to see if it stays on. The white and black thing works.

Mmmmmmmmmm, nice! What paint did you use? I used to just take all the parts off my BMX, take a can of Montana or Belton Graffiti paint and empty the can on the frame forks and bars. Leave to dry for an hour. Re build and ride. Every few weeks I would change my colour scheme... Tatty as fuck but kinda cheap. Always looked good for a week or 2.

Could be tempted, but I need to fix my front brake. 13.3 on the Kona and 18.7 on the Thorn today, so gonna be a little stiff. Not used to mileage.
