The levers don't fit!
Ah should have checked that I guess. I'm sure you can come switch then for some that will fit, just make sure you don't ask Lucy!

Hallo everyone!
Here's my Wabi Lightning SE. Not seen any in Norwich yet...
I love it.

Hmmmm... looking at those photos, I think I'll flip that stem...
:D

• #411
Flip it and slam it if you can - will make it look so much better.

Slam?
googles
Ah, slam..... Yeah, looks so much better.
Watch this space.....

Yeah, it'd only put your bars 15cm lower - sure it won't affect your fit too much. At least it'll look better.
;)

That stack!
Chop and drop, sorted bike.

• #415
Put the bars where you need them. No point having a bike that looks "right" if you can't use it without seizing up.
-
• #416
A stem with no drop and a set if risers could get everything in a similar place but look a bit more pleasing on the eye.
Or just ride the shit out of it. -

To be fair, if this was true, he's just bought the wrong size bike! Plus lowering by 15cm will feel like going downhill all the time, so everyone's a winner.

Flat stem, slammed, risers. Job done

Okay, the plot thickens...
Last night I put on a 130mm stem with 6° drop, which feels so much better than the 90mm stem in the photos. I've got 30mm of spacers plus 10mm spacer for my bell. So if I remove 30mm of steerer tube (I want to keep the bell) and have a 6° rise, the bar is effectively going to be in the same place.
If I flip the stem later, I'll get another 8mm of reach and 26mm more drop.
What's the best way to cut the steerer tube? I've got one of those plumber's pipe cutter thingys. Any good? Or hacksaw?
Thanks all...

Pipe cutter would struggle on that, I'd have thought. Hacksaw and a file... One of these would be handy, but I've never used them in the past:

That graph is mental, but quite cool. Hacksaw will do it just fine if you can cut straight (something I've always struggled with) and yeah, as Sparky said you'll just need to file off the burrs after you're done.

pipe cutter works fine done many steerers with them. In fact i have cut a scaffold pole with one before now.
Take it slow and you'll have a nice clean cut. Rush it and it won't be as tidy. -
• #423
Hacksaw it is then! Thanks.
Edit: Just seen sjc's comment. Might try pipecutter first. Haha!
You can make your own graphs here:

Really useful tool.

Slam bam, thank you mam!
Well, not quite slammed, but looks much better - a happy compromise....
Thanks for all your advice. Pipecutter worked a treat, so much easier and neater than a saw would've been.
