Sloe Gin always gets a thumbs-up from me, wherever it is deployed.

Police have been informed.

I'm questioning whether I actually like sloe gin now after your previous confession.

'You know what snitches get ....'
he snarled in the manner of a minor character in a Guy Ritchie film. -

Worry not fellow thread denizens,
karma has dealt with me.My local Iceland had sold out of the 'three slabs for £3' mincers,
and,
even I'm not going to buy anything from Mr. Kipling.Undaunted I strolled over to the Ruislip branch of Wenzels,
(north west London's local Greggs-a-like bakers),
and bought a box of 4 for £1.95.Tray is larger diameter than Icelands standard, but shallower.
Filling has more clearly defined fruit.

I got golf clubbed for my review of these bad boys, but the next post was the chilli sauce nut job so it got a bit lost.... Glad it wasn't the wine talking though. https://www.lfgss.com/comments/16806303/

Had a Gail’s one today. Waste of £2.50.
Fucking glad I didn’t spunk £14 on a box.

What didn't you like about them?
-
• #2860
Not been impressed with anything from Gail’s tbh, esp the coffee.

In the queue for a mince pie slice, it’s quite civil at the moment but things might get tetchy later on when sticks run low.

Looks good even though a slice will upset the purists, was swayed by a Basque cheesecake too, they even give you mulled wine while queuing.

To be fair I think a slice might be more authentic. Pretty sure that single dose mincers is a relatively modern development.

Hmm definitely shouldn’t have checked this thread while hungry and on a Brighton > Victoria train catching signalling delays. Mince pie slice is making me regret not stopping at Real Patisserie.

If anyone's in Dublin, check out the pies from Proper Order in Smithfield. Lovely crunchy pastry number with some intense fruit flavour.

Coffee is the worst thing about going home - I brought Dark Arts Christmas effort with me.

Pear and fig mincer with triple cheese pastry from the Airstream caravan in Cirencester park. Too far?

Very disappointed by those Oggs ones. Going to chop down some newly planted trees in protest.
Merry Xmas everybody

Meh.
Theres a small baker in West Norwood. Well worth seeking out. -

Judging by the tumbleweed in this thread, we all peaked early this year.
A word for the value offered by mince pies.
I dropped into the Ruislip Wenzels as I started the last roughly 6 miles of my Festive 500, yesterday.
Mince pies of course, long gone! (But they had been 4 for £1.95).
Admittedly it was late, and I was not offered the entire breadth of the typical Wenzels offerings,
but, a solitary chocolate/hazelnut spread croissant was £1.85! -

Postscript to the above:
two jars of mincemeat purchased to make my own. -

I'm off to Morrisons in a bit to get a stash of their shortcrust offerings, the longer the dates, the more I'll buy.
Went out yesterday morning and found a box of Tesco's deep filled mincers on the doorstep, with a card that said 'Jesus Loves You', possibly a sign that the son of god wants me to carry on eating mincers.
Not been through the thread so don't know if these have come up yet from Aldi.
9/10 from me.
