I will just make the cake in whatever pan I can find. Just won't look as nice. Nor as pricey.
The kids turned it into this. Bastards.

Me too! Very nice indeed, I think they put cinnamon in their pastry.

I ated the box from Co-op. Nothing special. Haz pissed cream now so the next batch will be proper artery hardeners.

Last year the ones I ordered from Riverford were head a shoulders above any others I tried.
I'm going to give Gregs a try though - I'm intrigued by the hype.

I am currently eating my way through a beast from patisserie valerie, it's around 2-3 inches deep. It's a serious amount of mince pie. Tastewise it's quite sharp and boozy.

I mean we have little apple pies and bigger apple pies/tarts, shouldn't it work with mince too? shouldn't it be incredible?! gf is going to try concoct one but just wanted to see if anyones ever seen it done before.

Four mince pies in 24hrs. My farts are rancid.
Care with the mince pie flan, too much filling to pastry can be overpowering. Tell her to look up the Scottish Ecclefechan tart recipe.
