Love Henderson’s, good in everything.

Ah, thanks for the heads-up. The local shop up near me where I used to get it ran out of stock a while ago and (despite pleas) hasn't re-stocked yet.

OK, after trying to go to the Pizza Shop when it's closed tonight, we'll be going to the new-ish Brewdog Dalston (with Biff's Jack Shack for food) instead. 6pm. Feel free to join us!

(I'm sure the opening hours only refer to the food operation and not the pub.)

Any fellow vegans interested in a pair of Etnies Jameson HT shoes? New in box, (have tried them on in the house) not the right fit for me. UK 10, £32

I was here having a few beers yesterday https://www.towertavern.co.uk/ and saw that the menu is now all vegetarian and vegan. I didn't eat there but those that did said it was decent.

Right around the corner from my office! That's were we do most of our after-work boozing.

Ah cool, last few times they've been on offer I get tempted but then leather.
-
• #7136
I've had a vegan version for years, it's great, would highly recommend.
Edit: for clarity, I know the Restrap people and they made me a vegan version on request. -

Also, for anyone interested, the "leather" style patch on their bags are synthetic as well so all the luggage is vegan as far as I know.

I thought I'd post a reminder of London Vegan Drinks, which is tonight (first Saturday of the month):
https://www.meetup.com/londonvegan/events/vsrwxqyzqbkb/
I haven't managed to go for months but am finally free tonight. It's always a really lovely evening, with a mixture of old and new people, as well as long-term vegans and people very new to veganism.
More recently, the evening has acquired a Geekstraveganza arm in that people play boardgames a little later in the evening--always really good games available, if that's your thing.
It's at Karamel in Wood Green, a lovely family-run vegan restaurant.

Also another reminder of the Animal Aid Christmas Festival tomorrow:
https://www.animalaid.org.uk/events/animal-aids-christmas-festival-2019/
(Formerly the Christmas without Cruelty Fayre or Christmas Fayre.)
There's so much going on in veganism now that it's easy to forget this was one of the first annual events, a total oasis from the rest of Christmas, and as previously mentioned, it has been going for 27 years now. If you haven't been before, it's a must to go at least once.

Aiming to attend.
What time might you be there?
Will there be a forum meet up? -
• #7141
I normally aim for around noon, is that good for you? Earlier is fine, too.
If it counts as a 'forum meet-up' if the number attending is >1 and <3, then I guess the answer is yes in any case. :)
-
• #7142
Let's aim for noon.

Great, shall we meet by the bike racks on the Hornton Street side? (There are a few stands on Campden Hill Road, too, but the main bike park is on the eastern side of the site.)
Anyone else, feel free to meet us there. 12 noon, Kensington Town Hall.
-
• #7144
Just about to set off, so closer to 12.15.
-
• #7145
did the meet up happen? sorry i missed this
-
• #7146
Only in the 1<forum meet up <3 sense,
but Oliver knew lots of people so it seemed a more welcoming event
than just walking in off the street. -
• #7147
Great to see you there!
Come next year, O. :)

More vegan pizza:

I haven't been to the Railway Tavern in a while so didn't know they had this.

I have been reliably informed that the Waitrose Essentials mince pie contains milk powder this year. Pretty retrograde move by the Waitrosers. Stick with Greggs...

Can recommend the Morrisons Free From mince pies... big crusty top and quite a bit of filling... been smashing them lately!
One of my local Turkish shops sell it in Dalston, random but handy.
