  • I use Ora Heal toothpaste-

There’s a great Ethiopian in Camberwell that sounds similar! Zeret Kitchen. Not vegan specific but cater very well for them.

  • Thanks @moog @Johnnyw75.. went for the booja as I’ve had it before and yes it’s v tasty! Meant I could also piggy back on my parents food shop and get guaranteed pre crimbo delivery.

I’ll also be making a baileys type drink to go with them.

  • I’m just back from seeing the new Star Wars and it has an overt pro vegan message.

    Colour me surprised and encouraged.

Luke Skywalker drinks the milk of some hideous beastie to make the viewer go ‘eeeeugh’ and then Chewbacca decides not to eat meat after working out it’s an animal.

  • Like Mexican food? Like Indian food?
Me too! I’ve been making tikka masala fajitas and burritos now for a few months and it’s just so fucking good.
I chopped and fried tofu in the old El Paso fajita seasoning, fried some red and yellow chopped peppers then added in some tikka paste (since tikka sauce has yoghurt in) chucked in the peppers and served on tortilla wraps with lettuce, rocket and spinach, tomato salsa, mango chutney and optional fake cheese (the violife stuff from Waitrose is pretty good) and wrapped up!
You can add rice and beans to make it a bit more filling and burrito like. And it takes about 15 minutes to do

  • This sounds delicious, and I don't want to rain on your parade but this fajita seasoning is fucked up.
You may not like the monosodium glutamate in there, but ethoxyquin is definitely not cool, it's not even legal to be used in forage in the EU.

  • Woah. The more you know, thanks

  • Sorry
    : ]

  • Hoooooolllly shit. Never eating that again. I have eaten many packs but I've just gone cold turkey..

  • Sorry but what are you basing this on? I don't think MSG is proven to be bad for you. And ethoxyquin seems to legal in the US and I would assume that it's not being used illegally in the EU.

I don't even eat the fajita seasoning, and I'm absolutely against unnecessary weird additives, but I would like to see some proof before some random ingredient is written off forever.

  • Make your own fajita seasoning - chili powder, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic (crushed 0r powdered, have used either), salt, and pepper :-)
Will be trying @PhilDAS tikka masala wraps, good shout.

  • http://www.europarl.europa.eu/sides/getDoc.do?pubRef=-//EP//TEXT+WQ+P-2013-012742+0+DOC+XML+V0//EN&language=nl for example

Sorry I wasn't being precise - it's only illegal as an additive in organic food in the EU right now, alas already illegal as a pesticide (quoting from link above -)
The risks associated with the use of ethoxyquin as a pesticide are well known, and it may no longer be employed for that purpose in the EU. On what basis, then, is ethoxyquin authorised as a food additive?

  • Make your own fajita seasoning - chili powder, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic (crushed 0r powdered, have used either), salt, and pepper :-)
Will be trying @PhilDAS tikka masala wraps, good shout.

Also this is the important bit here! Tikka masala wraps are great!

  • Just bought fajitas. Now ready for tea tonight.

  • Fajitas a firm favourite in our house. Oregano is also an excellent addition! (As part of the fajita spices)

  • I (eventually) made this and gave it to my girlfriend. Tastes great! But I just realised it only keeps for 4-5 days!
