  • so, to answer my own question (you're welcome) i went to the duchy arms. was an ok pub before and now has new owners, had some pretty good vegan options (not all were on the menu so worth asking). I had a tasty vegan mushroom wellington roast, vegan gravy etc. They also had vegan shortcake and sorbet for dessert. The meat roasts were apparently very good too if you are in a mixed group

  • good to know. Always assumed Battersea was a vegan deadzone

  • nice one dude. where is the Duchy exactly?

  • On the edge of Sancroft Street and Courtenay Street SE11 5UG

  • cool cheers dude. google was throwing up sancroft street but i just wanted to be sure that was the one. will check it out this weekend

got bit thrown by the fact that sancroft street is more like kennington or oval, rather than battersea.

  • Ha, yes, that's definitely not in Battersea, but Brameses did say 'Battersea area', which could be interpreted to include more than Battersea itself. :)

If all parties to the meeting are on bikes, location is definable more loosely than if they were on foot.

  • New Vegan Athletic clothing if anyone's interested

  • Writing on front is too much imo

  • Could be smaller I guess... I like the fact that all the kit is made in sweat-free shops in China.

  • Poor kids, don't even get any sweats.

  • Make sweat shops sweat again etc

  • Nice shirts, but the writing and especially that logo looks a bit shit.

  • Looking for vegan asian recipes!

There was one - basically different vegetables wrapped into a "pyramid" of rice-paper -
think someone posted this in here (albeit a good while ago) but can't find it.

Open to all kinds of recipes / links though!

  • Minimalist baker does lots of Asian-inspired vegan recipes.

    Post punk kitchen does too.

  • Hey, thanks!

Was already familiar with the PPK but seeing all the recipes at Minimalist Baker is mouth-watering already.. so much good looking stuff!

  • Spending a few days in Central London with the non-vegtan gf, we're planning on hitting up a load of vegan places, what are the MUST sees? Other than temple of Seitan, Vx and Club Mexicana?

  • Pizza at Voodoo Rays or Fed by water in Dalston (Fed do fake meat)

Burgers and lots of other stuff at Black Cat cafe ( Hackney Central).

Veggie/vegan food at Tibits too (Heddon Street off Regent Street).

  • Itadaki Den nr Kings X is great too

  • Cheers guys!

  • If you're still around Fri/Sat/Sun, I Will Kill Again is awesome. (Do meat stuffs too, but awesome vegan. Pastries! Burritos! Brownies!)

    #brokenrecord #butitissogood

  • Mildreds in Soho for dinner.

  • or Mildreds on pentonville Road even better (more chance of getting space)

Fed by Water in Dalston is shit. and definitely not on a par with the other excellent suggestions from @Cazakstan

  • oh, and had the vegan mushroom Wellington at the Duchy Arms today following that earlier recommendation. ordinary pub but great effort and would definitely go again if in the area

  • Fed by Water in Dalston is shit.

For jonny, it has to be Fed by G. :)

    (Now vegan, of course.)

  • I have been once and they were friendly and hospitable. Pizza was good. Fair enough though, maybe it's shit now!
