I need to go back to Melbourne. In 3 days there I pretty much ate nothing but chips and dexedrine.

Vegan roast?! Oh shit.
Yeh Franco is always a shout. Cheers all -

I had the vegan pizza in pizza express the other day, 8/10 would eat again

Likewise. Without the oil on top of the oil next time maybe
-
• #2706
I added extra chill oil too. Oil on oil on top of oil!

Cheers mate.
Queen Vegan slice at Voodoo Ray's is good! -
• #2709
Agreed, the Queen Vegan is a good slice.
Did anyone see Food Unwrapped last night? Company in the Netherlands making a meat substitute with the same texture as meat, more interesting was a vegetarian butcher that then added flavourings to the meat to make it taste more like the real thing... I TRY and steer clear of things like this but wow, it all looked very good

Been trying pretty hard to like the alpro yoghurt stuff. Vanilla is pretty good but the plain is bland and its really making me miss actual yoghurt which is bad. Any richer/creamier alternatives out there?

Coyo

I second that. But it's pricey.
-
• #2713
Yowzer, that is a bit steep, especially as I get through quite a lot, but will give it a go. thanks!
-
• #2714

I don't like many of them, but I quite like the Sojade blueberry flavour.

I like the coconut version... but it's not that coconuty for some reason... is coconuty even a word?
-
• #2718
It is now.
-
• #2719
Good to know @Mancini... I might have a word with Oxford Concise and get them to whack it in there.
-
• #2720
Yeah definitely interested in this. Any books or websites that you recommend?
-
• #2721
Of course you can say that. I'd spell it 'coconutty', though.

Does anyone fancy going to eat vegan calzone next week?

That mozzarella looks incredible

made genuinely fluffy vegan pancakes from the Serious Eats recipe that uses aquafaba. Very impressive stuff. Though I had to whisk it by hand because the small quantity didn't play nice with my stand mixer

^^^ They look great!
There's the Fat Gay Vegan Burger at Veg Bar in Tulse Hill Road:
http://fatgayvegan.com/2015/09/20/fgv-burger/
It's basically an imitation of a certain well-known burger sold elsewhere. :)
Also this from quite recently:

(I haven't tried either. We could, of course, plot a Vegan Thread excursion to eat burgers sometime.)
