Aha, shame it didn't work out well.

And while we're on the subject of supper clubs:

^ Those menus look fantastic. I'm not normally a fan of Caribbean food but I am intrigued by that proposed meal even more than the Thai one. Are you likely to attend any of these, Oliver?

So, next vegan nosh meetup?

I'm not sure yet, most likely not (clashes :( ). I wish I could make the next Vegan Peasant supper club on the 7th, but I'm otherwise engaged then, too.

Well, as Nick was saying:
Na, they were separate locations then when vantra closed it apparently mobed in some capacity to vitao (although I couldnt see how it was manifesting its presence at vitao). Didnt know vitao wasnt thereany more tho. Anyone up for an important fact finding mission to the new location?
I have completely lost track of vegetarian restaurants in London owing to getting heavily into home cooking, so I have no idea where to go. I'd like it to be a vegetarian or vegan place, though.

BTW, the Spirited Palace does amazing food. Too small for a meetup and not open late enough, most days, but if you ever drop in at Cadence, is a good place to recover from the testosterone poisoning.

Can somebody give me some links to helpful sites about vegan baking please.
Like cakes etc.
Basically what I want to do is a kickass vegan Donauwelle / Snow White Cake.
I did find some recipes, but nothing really inspiring confidence / mouth watering. Thanks!

There's a creperie in Brixton which has always been vegan friendly (excellent buckwheat galettes which they were happy to fill to order for vegans) but they now have several vegan options on the menu. Well worth a visit. Happy to help organise a meet-up there if enough people were interested.

^ In. Nice Randomness review. Might try making these at home too :)
-
• #1437
I like the randomness site, too. Quite different from the kind of randomness I had in mind here. :)
I must remember to visit that place when I'm in the area. Not sure I'd be up for a nosh-up type of visit--it looks more like a snacky place than a full-blown restaurant?
In other news, I've only just seen that this vegetarian place opened recently on Stoke Newington High Street:
https://twitter.com/tatreezcafe
http://hackneycitizen.co.uk/2013/10/14/palestinian-cafe-tatreez-stoke-newington/
(I can't find a web-site.)
Loads of reviews on-line.
Several dishes seem to be vegan.
Likewise not the full restaurant experience, but as it's close to home I'll make sure to pay it a visit soon.

i've not been here but it looks amazing! there are quite a few vegan options in brixton market (yum d thai, kaosarn thai, ms cupcake, i think the wheat- and gluten-free place has some options, etc) i would happily have a meet-up there.
xsvcx and i went to Pho vietnamese yesterday:
and now (as is my custom) i am going to spam the thread with vegan food pictures. apologies in advance for the massive pictures.
home made gluten- and soy-free pizza (with roasted mushrooms and sweet potato, red onion, rocket and black pepper)
mini banana and chocolate cake hearts
cashew and basil pesto which looks a bit boring but is amazing
black olive and sundried tomato bread (i couldn't decide what i wanted so i made both in one)
pancakes with banana, strawberry, maple syrup and grated chocolate (it was a sunday, i channelled the "treat yo self" vibe)
home made shortcrust pastry tartlets (creamy spinach & chestnut mushroom) w potato dauphinoise (particularly proud of this because it was much more straightforward than i originally planned):
also god bless jus roll for making these accidentally vegan:
sorry about the spam. i just really like to eat.

Went to a really nice organic, vegan Japanese in Kings Cross called Itadaki Zen. Really recommend it. The food is super tasty. It's a little pricey though but I reckon it's worth it.

^The food is nice but you really don't get much for what you pay.

I want to make my own soya milk. Can anyone advise based on their experiences? Tips, recipes, websites, whatever, please.
Much obliged.

Heartless woman. Do you know how many soy beans have to die so that you can enjoy the plant milk?
Had a voucher for it that had to be used.
