If anyone lives in the elephant and castle/camberwell area there is a place called village pizza (take out) that does amazing vegan pizzas, with fake meat and vegan cheese. On tuesdays it's BOGOF. I think our house (5 vegan bike nerds) record was about 12 pizzas.

fake cheese and meat can never be vegan as animals had to die for people to know what these analogues are recreating

Thanks for the tip, been looking for a decent place around here (SE5) that does vegan options. The last couple of times we've ordered from Firezza (Herne Hill) havent been fantastic, I think we are finished with them now.
It's a real shame the Libertine doesnt do deliveries.

cannot express how happy i am there's a vegan thread on the forum. are there vegan lfgss meetups or would that be too exclusive...
The vegan drinks is regular. I think it's run by that guy fatgayvegan.
Sometimes there are forum vegetarian meetups. Oliver Schick is your man for that.

Is this the place?
http://www.villagepizza-se1.co.uk/Their website is a bit shit, and I cant see anything in the menu about vegan options available... suppose I could just ride up there and get a printed menu.

Was going to order from Village Pizza a couple of years ago but the menu said none of the fake meat was vegan and you had to order far in advance so they could make vegan dough. Have they sorted that shit out?
Was in Leeds for a couple of hours today so went to Little Tokyo, had the bento box with mango 'chicken'. So so good.

I realised I'll have been vegan for 2 years at some point this month, I need to think of some sort of way to celebrate my veganniversary! No going back!

^^ why wouldnt the dough be vegan - isnt pizza dough just yeast, flour, oil, salt and sugar (and water) ??
I've always assumed that. Didnt think pizza dough had anything dairy or egg in it...
(although assumption is the mother of fuck ups when it comes to veganism)The Village Pizza thing has the word 'vegan' all over it so it would strike me as odd that they'd do everything fine, but then stick an egg or a crushed shark fin into the dough.
I'll scan that menu in and upload it to Google Drive tomorrow so people here can have a look at it. I'm living in Camberwell nearly three years and never heard anyone mention that place as a vegan outpost. They need to market themselves more. And jesus, get a fucking decent website together! I'm no graphic designer but even I can see that website is a mess.

Sometimes there's milk in the base, I know dominos bases aren't vegan.

I think proper Italian pizza might add cream to the thick dough mixes, but not the skinny ones? Kevin, you're a star to scan that menu in, very much appreciated by those non-southies!

lovely. would anyone like to eat some vegan food somewhere and go for a nice relaxed scenic cycle (park / canals / similar) soon?
we could do a few laps of regents park outer ring or something fairly central & convenient then retire somewhere warm and fairly inexpensive...
would anyone like to try:
- Beatroot in soho
- a thai veg buffet (soho, camden)
- thai indian buffet (angel)
- incredible vietnamese place in Camden which does satay fried tofu and deep fried chilli tofu and it's so good (writing a post about food is such a bad idea when you're hungry)
- Loving Hut (camden or archway, former for burgers and latter for chinese food)
- Camden also has Cookies & Scream as well as a really nice vegan burger place in the Lock
- we could try Pogo Cafe in Hackney but i know (having worked there) it can be a bit hit and miss
- i've not been to the coach and horses or smithfield tavern (i think mentioned a few pages back?) but both sound great
- failing that we could have a vegan potluck somewhere!

I'd be up for this.
An option for any Wednesday could be to go to Rasa (veggie Indian with vegan options) in Stoke Newington followed by Easts drinkies which is a short waddle from the restaurant at the Jolly Butchers.
Happy with anything else as well. I liked the dirty pleasure of Loving Hut's fast food a few weeks ago and could easily be persuaded again. Would be up for trying the Smithfield Tavern as the last time I went their kitchen was closed. You've also got Amico Bio - good veggie/vegan italian (no really!) a stone's throw from there.
If it were a canal pootle then food then I guess one could do Victoria Park to Stoke Newington and Rasa or the canal in either direction to Camden then Loving Hut or Inspiral. -
