Hendersons is good for more restauranty vibe.
This is tomorrow's plan.

Henderson's was lovely, better because we hit a quiet period, the staff were super nice and we got posh haggis which is Sunday roast adjacent, fancy but not too pretentious, bacon sprouts were great.

Excellent, yes like it there!

Well that juicy marbles stuff is really quite special if you’re after meat replacement. Did it as a wellington and it rocked. Will defo stay on the special occasion list though as it’s proper pricey when it’s not on offer.

We just had it tonight - I made a peppercorn sauce which went brilliantly. Definitely on the special occasion list. Tasted like how I imagine roast beef tastes (after close to 40 years, I can't rightly say I remember...)

I need to make a vegan chocolate cake. This afternoon. I'm assuming all the ingredients are in place - flour, sugar and icing sugar, vegan margarine, cocoa powder and chocolate.
Any recipe recommendations? Quick and easy, suitable for a child to help out on.

Different ingredients, but this is great: https://thefoodiediaries.co/2021/11/06/the-best-vegan-chocolate-loaf-cake/
there are variations on this recipe all over the joint, I sometimes put used espresso grounds in there, or chilli. It's easy enough that I usually just make it after dinner if I fancy dessert.

Thanks. That does look good. It's a birthday cake so thinking more traditional two layers, goo in middle, goo on top.

Went to tendril for dinner recently - I really liked it! The optional fennel fritter was really tasty. I did not like the cocktail but it was interesting. Recommended for an interesting and special meal.

We are at my in laws for Xmas, any recommendations on easy vegan options? My mother in law will want to do everything, so relatively easy things

I loved Tendril when I went in January! I had a mezcal negroni which was excellent.

There’s been a few seitan roast recipes shared on here that are pretty easy / low effort (imo) and can be mostly prepared in advance

This is easy to organise and I've made it a few times. Easy but impressive.

Went to Mali Vegan Thai in SW5 a few weeks back, liked it. Also, great to meet @Oliver Schick of this parish at VegFest the day after.

I'm in Stockholm next week for work, is there anything worth going to that's not super super spendy, like for lunches etc?

I went to Third Culture Deli (I am nut OK cheez people) on Broadway Market yesterday for lunch, the Xmas sarnie is banging and you should go.

Went to orbit brewery for a roast today (from a recc on here maybe cazakstan?) and it was really good!
-
• #10294
That was one of the Southies' recommendations, maybe Kat?
-
• #10295
I’ll take a look, thanks
@Cazakstan if I can have a practise before we head I will, it looks good, and quite adaptable to the diet my kids need.

Any reccs for a good vegan roast within walking distance from London Bridge station?
-
• #10297
Apologies, crisp thread-based content but these are worryingly good, and from my village shop…
…oh, and L&P, if your product can be an ingredient to vegan crisps, sort your fish-based bottle nonsense out yeah? Not everyone can get to Sheffield for Hendo’s

Is there a better place to get big bags like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/RealFoodSource-Nutritional-Yeast-Flakes-1kg/dp/B0BFFL5XDD
?

Can you not just get it direct from that seller? https://www.realfoodsource.com/product/nutritional-yeast-flakes-1kg/
Back to London, I had Gwada Kitchen for the first time today. Lovely Ethiopian food, Ball's Pond Road. Vegetarian, but obviously great vegan stuff.
