If you pull the two pieces apart it releases the cable.

As above - canny system. Perhaps use the existing wire to help reroute the new wire through.

It has to be said, B+M shit all over everyone else, but they’re s bit plasticky. It’s like the difference between SKS and GB or PDW mudguards. Makes fuck all difference, but ...
@Belagerent I’d have a Toplight Line over a secula any day. Still cheap ish.

I need one of these mounts to fit a SON rear light to my bike (I know, it's not the right orientation)|
Can someone help me identify the mount pictured please?

20 quid - fucking hell
Thanks for the link
Any DIY options out there?
Edit: £25 with postage - this is how they really make their money, rather than the reasonably priced framesets they offer.

looks like you could easily 3d print that pretty cheaply. I think I've seen one on here made out of a metal plate that was bent too
Edit Spotter made one here or alb made one out of a cheap reflector mount too

To be fair, when I 3d printed a one-off rear dyno light mount using a hard-wearing material, it cost about the same.

I'd guess it had an OD of around 7/8mm

Thanks for the replies - the brass pipe looks like the neatest and most cost effective option to me. Will knock something up.

Does any one have a spare SP connector I could pick up tonight?

Just came across one rummaging through my part box. Hit me up if you're still in need. I'm in N4.

One further option if you have a drilled rear bridge: https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/lighting-spares/brompton-bracket-for-rear-lamp-le-versions-no-rack-black/
I use one with my SON rear and sets the light up nicely, if not perfectly plumb -

This one, B+M 179USLR, seems to be the Luxos IQ2 (higher power) variant of 90 lux output, and has a USB charge output (and standlight function etc) for 110 euro? Seems really good value to me, unless the USB charge output is something pathetic. -

The reviews sound like a typical B&M product, flimsy, doesn’t like rain.

When they work they're good, but lots of people have problems with them (including me). No water ingress protection, flimsy wiring to the remote control thingy that you can't replace, flimsy connector spades, weird behaviour after a while.
There are people who've managed to dodge all the issues and will stan for them, so you might get lucky.

OTOH, how are people attaching rear rackmount rear lights when not using a rack?
gotta be something more elegant than this

light needs to be horizontal, not vertical

carradice is in the way
Thanks for the above @seager, next question, I have a light routed through the fork leg which I want to remove and keep. It's a supernova e3 something something. Do I have to snip the cable to do this or is there some canny system involved? the light terminates on something like this grey thing, which isn't going to fit through the tiny drainage hole in the fork.
