Ha!
One more game-play highlight:
During the final, Andy was in the top corner, with Lukas and Manu literally snapping at his heels, trying to keep possession, shouting: Eddy! Eddy!
Eddy was sitting in his own d with Jamie, just watching, looking absolutely shattered...
i can remember and it was really funny. eddy thought that andi lost the ball and rides back for the defense :D
another great moment:
recep crashed and the first shout was "was it a goal?" -

Thank you Karlsruhe! What a brilliantly organised tournament. It really was never planned for 40 teams, but you nailed it.
The venue was amazing – I can’t believe the messehalle people were so tolerant and accommodating. It was great to play indoors, stay warm the whole time, and have clean toilets. The nice bit about only playing on only one court was the level of support for almost every game.
The goals were also good. They did get knocked over a few times, but I doubt it was more times than cones would have been knocked out of place. Apart from the fast ricochet, the ball popping up into the net round the back was a bit of a problem. But they were really easy to play and the 180 diameter seems perfect.
Once again, London showed brilliant support for their own throughout, and every team represented really well on court. Mark’s BB goal was absolutely beautiful, Hassan’s back-hand from the top left corner at the tightest angle was stunning, and Yorgo’s goal was genius; from a save at one end, knocking the ball up court then getting to it to score before anyone else, amazing! So many other great plays I forget.
At the end of the qualifiers, the top 17 teams included 6 London teams, with 2 french, 2 swiss and 7 from Germany (and they had 18 teams taking part!).
Thanks to all from London and especially Cosmic for supporting us, even in our final group game where our loss would have meant your place in the last 8. We should have done much, much better in the quarter finals against DTGP – eurgh, schooled!
Thanks Jono and Matt, it was really fun to play the way we did.
The biggest thanks to our host Steffen and his lovely other half, Susen, for putting up (with) Malice and L’equipe, sharing your whisky and your amazing home, driving us around, feeding us and making us feel really welcome in Karlsruhe.
Roll on Greifmasters II.

*Highlight:
"PENIS!" going international, with Steffen Clown shouting it at Toros(?) in the quarter finals.
Also I'm sure I heard someone shout it on court in the final, either Toros or hopefully l'Equipe.
*Ask Mark !!!!

Not else to add, but I really want to say how much fun I had this weekend. I think after dreary winter polo break (and just not wanting to leave the house in the dark and cold in general), that this has really lifted my spirits - I<3bikepolo!
It was a nice treat to play in the Greif Bastards, my team mates (David from Basel and Anie from Munich) were lovely and so much fun to play with (though I think a shuffle of me, Anie and B would have been a dream come true). We managed to pull a win out (against the team ranked last :P) and did a decent job holding off some tough competition. Not bad considering we'd never played together!
Everything was lovely and very slickly put together. Some highlights for me where the screen, the "stadium" view from the stairs, and the goals. As for the rebound problem, could they be manufactured in plastic? And for weight issues (to keep it firmly to the ground without velcro) maybe fill the hollow tubing with water or sand? That would help absorb impact as well. May complicate manufacturing, though.
Meh, what do I know? Just that Greif Masters and the Karlsruhe contingent were totally awesome!
