:P

The Karlsruhe goals need a few minor adjustments, but were nearly perfect, and are definitely the future.
I wish I could remember what thread we just had a discussion about the top bar on, so I could say I told ya so. (A virtual bar -- the top of the net with an elastic band or whatever it was -- is a bar.)

Thanks for your, probably ironic, support Matt (shitdesigner). We did have a blast and, I think, play pretty fucking well, though.

thanks so much KA, really top organisation and wonderful hosting. the fucking future!
Goals were bang on, spirit was bang on, London repped beautifully and dave and aido as always i doff my cap to you. The surface was really slippery, but it was for everyone, (except mikey, WTF?!) Great play zombies, yorgo you were superb, fast physical and accurate. "come on zombo the greek!"
Recep if i have a choice i would like to be 'mr.may' ;)
Sorry not to say goodbye manchester, it was great hanging out with you guys look forward to seeing you in mcr. Thanks to the parisiens for intermittent translation. Polo love!

Beards played well. The competition was stiff.

Yeah, how the fuck did Zombie keep the rubber down more than almost anyone else on that slippery court?

ooer! its the sexy facial hair huh? or did the competition like an older fella? maybe it was the sexy father/son combo... ;)

Ali and Jo - you are both incredible!
I liked the nets and think the court was good for our team. 5-0.. oh yeah! ;)- bad polo vs polosynthese (best game of the tournament!)
I agree that BAD v POLOsynthese was one of the best games of the tournament - and probably the reason Davide (sp?) got MVP. Ones to watch for sure! I personally think Andreas Toros was MVP - his accuracy in front of goal is brilliant. Jamie Toros was awesome in defence. I think London's MVP was Yorgo.
Thanks Karlsruhe

I just want to say that it was a bummer that Cosmic and Apples and Beards didn't make it to quarter finals. They had some tough draws. Things may have been different with different draws.
Cosmic was in 9th, one spot away.
Oh, and Los Conos slayed Poloholica.

It was a fantastic weekend. Alex was a hero for letting B and I stay with him, and for playing superb polo against tough teams for M,S&S. The London crew were, as ever, the loudest, funniest bunch on cunts, and it was so great to hang out with all our friends from Munich, Paris, Berlin, Manchester, and everywhere else. The guys from Karlsruhe pulled it out of the bag big time for this.
Goals in principle are a great addition. The design of these ones in particular could do with tweaking a little to avoid the quick rebound, but I am in favour of using them for tourney play (with goals refs still of course!). And as for the giant plasma screen....well as Yorgo said, 'No giant plasma screen, no polo'. Morgan was a genius for doing all the programming whilst drinking, getting naked and getting his snake out.
Shame to get so close to the final 8 without qualifying, but Anonmous from Munich held us to a 1-1 draw which made all the difference in a game that should've been ours. Either way, it was a joy to go on the first foreign Cosmic adventure with Toddy and MAT.
I really hope this fixture is repeated next year, now we've learnt a thing or two about the surface. It was great to have zero bobbling of the ball, even if this meant slippy surface.
I was blown away by how well some individuals and teams played, particularly Zombo who was the best I have ever seen him play, and the Frankfurt MVP was awesome.
Thank you Karlsruhe for an epic weekend.

ah ah indeed it is strange that considering the floor and Mike's usual banked super-fast turns, he stayed on more than most!
One more highlight for me: Brendo and Zombo's nighttime Karlsruhe exploration. "I have an amazing sense of direction". NOT.

Our two losses were against the 2 teams at the top of the rankings. Whatever, we played as well as we could (apart from making a gift of 2 goals to Flying Mallets on Sunday), but we weren't good enough to beat DTGP or L'Equipe. No shame in that.
So why didn't your team get to the finals again, Matt?
Oh yeah, now I remember.

One more highlight: the London massive feeling homesick, so finding the ONLY spot in the hall where the visibility was poor, the space was restricted, and some shitty tree got in the way. Like a mini-Newington in Karlsruhe. SO much better to look at polo through a fence, eh?

oi oi, Bill, you senile old goat, i actually think you did great and had a bum draw from what i heard. i was arguing that you were called 3 Beards, not Moving Targets. take a pill. dude. simmer. woah there. wot? you narked? :D

Don't worry about it Matt, half of Europe thought their team name was Moving Targets - I kept having to correct them!

in spite of some hot discussions after bill's decisions (mostly against the toros ;) ) he had explained all of his whistles and often we agreed with him later.
but as bill has written above, it's hard when all the other refs don't call doubles and then bill calls more than one in one game. it's hard to handle the ref-procedure and to don't overule bikepolo.good work bill and respect for rik, he act calming often
totally agree with all of this - and Rik was effectively taking them quietly down :-)
really enjoyed the game with Apples - must say it was probably one of my best games so far, at least mentally
Thank you so much for the bitching and the cheering- like said above, it felt a bit like a peace of Newington in Germany

Ha!
One more game-play highlight:
During the final, Andy was in the top corner, with Lukas and Manu literally snapping at his heels, trying to keep possession, shouting: Eddy! Eddy!
Eddy was sitting in his own d with Jamie, just watching, looking absolutely shattered...

Highlight:
"PENIS!" going international, with Steffen Clown shouting it at Toros(?) in the quarter finals.
Also I'm sure I heard someone shout it on court in the final, either Toros or hopefully l'Equipe.
what a fun weekend.
my fav moments
...my stomach still hurts from laughing so hard.
karlsruhe loves you. come back soon!
