  • There was 20 kids in there on Friday. That's about the limit probably, due to turbo trainer numbers too.

  • Did you let them out again afterwards or are they still there?

  • I'll be down in a few hours to check. There's a big TV and 7up in there, so it wouldn't be too bad...

  • I'll be along on Wednesday.

  • Dumb question time : is it a good idea to have trainer/old tyre for these turbos? Or could I just ruck up on the commuter whip?

  • I did a year with commuter whip and a year of turning up on my road bike with turbo wheel stuck to my back. I seem to recall being the only person using a different wheel/tyre. You'll be fine with what you normally ride.

  • Cheers 6pt! Will try to get involved. Seems silly not to when it's so close to home.

  • I went to one session. It was ace.

  • What sort of GI should we go for? 82 ish (i.e. what is recommended for HH track?) or higher/lower?

  • 84GI is about the norm for HH. Most of the turbos have a 5-speed adjustment (fits onto your bars and works a bit like a gear shifter) on them to vary the resistance tho - i did a winter on 72GI's once and it was fine, assuming i got a turbo that worked!

  • How many coins of the realm will i need?

  • £3

  • Righty then! For anyone coming tonight. Meet in the office (yellow building) from 7pm. The session proper will start promptly at 7.20.

£3 per person. We have turbo trainers for you to use but not bikes.

If anyone has any music requests post them on here by 5.45 and I'll get them added to the playlist.

  • Overwerk!

    And the Tron soundtrack!

  • Phull Phat beats innit.

  • Blackout Crew! (put a donk on it)

  • Excellent. Might come down this Thursday.

  • It's on wednesdays dimi

  • Roger that.

  • I attended last week, it was dreadful, not even worth £3.

I wholly recommend that any new people thinking of attending actually give this the massive swerve.

  • how does this work then? does someone bark instructions like in a spin class or is it turn up, hook up and spin out?

  • It is instructor led. Completing standard turbo warm up, drills and warm down.

It's nice and informal and the effort level is currently sympathetic. I got a good sweat on, but was able to ride home, albeit quite slowly.

  • ^^^I echo all of these sentiments.

You told me you were puking in a bucket during the session, getting beaten up by VLC youf team, and then had to walk home. In the rain.

    That doesn't sound like "fun".
