clive what is your secret? you convinced people to get a cycling club membership and a fixed gear bike in less than 5 min
No, I have a fixed gear commuter but my gearing is too big for training... so.... I MUST BUY NEW BIKE!

@claus - Scary isn't it. Just think if I put my talents to use. I might even be able to persuade judges to do things. (sore point at the moment)
You're a bit of a one-trick pony, Clive. If you stuck consistently to trying to persuade people to ride fixed and join Rollapaluza CC, you'd probably score success after success.

It's a captive audience on here too. We should send Clive onto other bike forums to persuade others to join bike clubs and buy fixed gear bikes (but only after I've set up a one stop internet shop!)

kids never do what we want, you'll discover soon andy -

Tynan does what I tell him not to do, which is why I tell him not to do something I actually want him to do.
Once he's decoded reverse psychology, I'll have to reassess.

I'm going for 71.4 GI coz Clive challenged me with a bit of the old HTFU when I mentioned using my winter geared bike.
I really hope i don't live to regret it.
I mean not regret it rather than dieing in Richmond Park
You'll be fine. Come along, see how you get on and then maybe adjust gearing afterwards, for the next session.
So... is it cool to do this with a geared bike, or not? I couldn't really make conclusions fromt he above.
Either that or I'm on 49/14, which I know I can do the park in 20mins on.
Yes of course, come along.
You lot need to HTFU, I ride around on 48/19 all the time, even my trick bike was around the same gear ratio, thats not spinny.....Sub 60GI is spinny, soft cunts.
James, just like GreasyPip's Sunday best undercrackers lets keep this thread clean...

I'll do exactly that... bang goes another £40 on a 44T chainring then.
-
• #63
why £40?
-
• #64
Will have to get along for some of this caper when my hamstring is sorted. 44x18 FTW!
-
• #65
why £40?
If I want 1/8" on a 135 BCD seems like JE James campags are all that's on offer...
about £37 plus postage.

Thanks RPM... the sad bit is "This product is out of stock or a special order item."
I've saved that to my bookmarks and will be giving them a call as payday looms.

I feel dirty saying it, but what about an 18T pressed steel sprocket for £5? (I'm wincing as I type this)

the andel ones are ok, the dicta ones are probably the better of the pressed rubbish, but with something big like 18, I'd say spend as much as you can afford

All Condor's cogs are CNC made by Andel and £15. Pressed cogs are a false economy.

Come down Damo. Depending on numbers we may split the groups.
I agree, thats why i'm always rolling round on 66.4GI :)
