    Slagging...

    Dirty fucking saddles them Brooks

  • San Marco regal!!!!!

  • Hang on a cotton picking minutes, where's the Charge Spoon/Knife??

  • i vote for the san marco concor, i never use one but its so beutiful, its like a eagle from the side, actually i use an old selle italia very similar in form to the concor, its very nice, and have a prologo choice an a old turbo but i prefier the old (more old than the turbo) selle italia

  • Isn't amazing that even these days, with sooo many options in the market, the best saddles are still the italian ones? Selle Italia, San Marco, Fizik...

Brooks, incidentally, is Italian owned, although the saddles are still made in Birmingham.

  • Maybe they are italian owned, however the concept, heritage and everything else about them screams old school british, the fact they haven't had a face lift in the last 80-100 years says something for the original design...

Roberto, no disrespect mate, because you're well regarded by those that know you, but those saddles you've mentioned are (in my own very personal opinion), flimsy little saddles that need to be replaced each few years. Brooks is quality that I wouldn't exhange for a million Fizik saddles. And since I shall never enter the Tour de France, its long-lasting quality and workmanship, and stoic styling, that I value most.

I'll be honest, all saddles that aren't high class leather, are a bit shit to me.

Sorry, I know that will offend at least a million of the hipster-clones here on this forum.

Selle Royal own Brooks. Brooks are an Italian company.

I switched from Brooks to Fizik as the Aliante is simply unsurpassed in my opinion.

Opinion is what the poll is about, your view is not right, Roberto's view is not wrong, the poll measured opinion and not fact... there is no scientific method to say what is the best saddle there is only collective opinion.

Collective opinion says Italian saddles rule the roost, and by a considerable margin... include the fact that Brooks are Italian owned and Lepper aren't even stocked by Harris Cyclery due to poor quality and high returns and the list is 100% Italian.

You can't argue on the basis that "Yeah but Brooks are British"... only the factory location is... the leather is not British and neither is the raw metal parts... only assembly is British.

I find these arguments silly, but as you did jump in with such a strong post I might as well refute nearly all of your points.

Ashley in all honestly. you of all people should know that what work for other doesn't necessary mean it'll work for you when it come to saddle.
