Likewise. Met cake, arvy and bad matt for a ride, ended up in a pub. Rats.
What do you expect if you meet that lot for a ride? ;P

wish I'd met them for a ride instead of actually going on a ride. was too bloody cold yesterday.

True...In all fairness we did reach Greenwich before the customary pitstop, even though the journey was more reminiscent of osmosis than cycling.
Whereupon, if I recall, there was an unsavoury discussion of talcum powder, bib shorts and diamond cutters over energy drinks at the Trafalgar....
Which we followed up on by taking advantage of Nelsons statue....and finally, discovered London's largest dog toilet, where Matt stopped to pick up a souvenir.

The route is a little shorter this time. Even if we're beleaguered by mechanicals (again), we shouldn't end up in the first wave of Sunday lunchtime twats; if it goes well (I will probably navigate 'on the hoof', but Garmin assistance is useful), we'll get round in an hour and a half or something.
There are some short sharp hills, but they're fine on medium gear fixed; and slightly twisty/bumpy descents.
North Londoners might consider riding out (if they're in the market for miles), and I expect the train stops at Finsbury Park.
*Icy conditions will mean further postponement/cancellation blah blah brrrrrrrrr
*Chapeau to anyone who went out early early on sunday. clintsmoker and i left it til later in the day and went over to RP for a couple of laps. still a little icy out and reckon the lanes would have been pretty bad.
i can't make the 14th as will be out of town. will clock some miles in the shires instead. will try and recreate the Cuffley route on local roads just so i am there in spirit.

It's like that is it J; take the mickey out of us to your SMTNRC mates?
I believe the osmosis to which you refer was primarily occurring within those wearing bib-shorts. -

Just fondly reminiscing old chap.
You're spot on though. Jeans and bib shorts are not a good combination.
