get out of here with your successful exploits. I'm now reduced to trying to buy it on my laggy DZ while on the train.

Ha - better than the £5 Nokia I've been stuck with for the last month or so.

weird - got a receipt through - did manage one wallet transaction, but website told me it had failed - wonder if I have actually bought one? Says I won't be charged until it is delivered?

I have never queued up/waited online/stayed awake for any tech, if this is what it's like, I'm not going to bother in future.

Right, geeks - arguments for and against native app development? We have someone trying to push iOS down our necks but we want to head down the web app path as it's what we know and it's not device dependent.

Get out. Can't you see there's a crisis going on here?

3-5 days, postage said 2 days when I was ordering though.

I care not for your LG purchases. This is about the war not the battle.

Fair point.

Not sure about Android, but Apple has gone down the path of limiting functionality for web-apps versus "Apps".

I have also tried on and off since 8am and have not managed to buy one :)
Has anyone heard of any retail stores where you can get one SIM-free?

Web app functionality has always been limited on all platforms. Access to things like cameras, GPS, etc is restricted. In our case we are writing what will most likely be fairly boring business apps, not funky games or sales websites. So, I think access to phone resources like cameras, etc is probably not so important. Of course, iOS lover will push this aspect so we should have some arguments against it - like it being fucking pointless for our apps. :)

So Aus sold out in 20 mins apparently. I have a feeling that was our lot. Was not expecting that.

Do they degrade Internet connectivity, or leave that alone?

I had one in my basket and got as far as the payment page then it crashed ;(
If it has sold out I'd rather just place a back order today rather than go through that again when the next batch are released.

Looks like a few people on overclockers got one.

Well, i have been told that its been ordered and they will take payment on delivery in 3-5 days. We will see in 3-5 days....But you cant be that disappointed. A phone that is this awesome, that is this cheap, through one source - its bound to cause issues even for Google.
