I had that exact model but had problems with the installer when it came to android, as in it didn't work. It booted off the USB just fine though.
I'd personally just use a mini USB stick that sits flush with the chassis and have a dual boot set up. Hell, it's probably faster than the internal storage.
It's a shame it can't boot from the sd card, that would have been great.
I just installed straight onto the internal hard drive and wiped everything else after trying out booting from external USB. Was using ubuntu booted from SD before and have ended up binning that completely and just running android from the hard drive. It's breathed a lot of life back into something that just sat in the cupboard. I didn't try booting from an SD card btw but ubuntu light never particularly liked it anyway.

I've got my eye on these:
Huawei Ascend D quad XL
HTC One XL
LG Optimus 4X HD P880
LG Optimus D1L (possibly Krait dual core)
Panasonic Eluga Power (battery too small though?)
Samsung I9300 Galaxy S III
Sony Xperia ion (superceded by)
Sony Xperia Hayabusa (superceded by)
Sony Xperia Mint 1I am done with phones smaller than with 4.7inch screens. Even the Galaxy S II with its 4.3inch screen, feels way too small now. It feels like a toy.........now that I use the Galaxy Note all time, and the Galaxy S II has been relegated to back-up.

Still no ICS for my S2 :( All you guys have had notifications and denied them, I haven't even had a chance!!

I love Sense. Why not stick with Google Nexus if you get on with stock Android?
Free upgrade and the One-X screen.
I could sell the Nexus.
But actually I'll probably take the upgrade and sell the One-X.

Kies is only useful for the phone drivers, other than that don't bother wasting an evening pisspotting through an update with it. Got the same notification from T Mob and deliberately refused it as touchwiz appears to be bollocks compared to the clean ICS I'm currently running (AndyX 10.1, yes I've flashed this fucker about 20 times now in 3 months).
Love the ROM but these updates are doing my head in

Being honest, 7.2 was my favourite one so far but 10.1 appears excellent on battery life so I'll run it for a week or so. No doubt 11 will be out next week anyway but if not I'll reflash 7.2.

Hello,
My girlfriend has an orange san francisco which she has rooted and installed a new rom (swedish spring i think), she's running it on giffgaff.
It won't send or recieve sms messages at the moment, if its a problem with the rom and i install another one (i've already tried just rebooting it) will i lose all the setting and contact etc? can i just install a different sms app?
-
• #7512

Does anyone know if there's a good image portfolio app available for Android (Galaxy 10.1)? iPad have Foliobook amongst other intuitive digital book apps yet I can't for the life of me find one for Android, what gives?
-
• #7518
I think so, it connects to the internet and will make and receive calls.
could it be the mms settings? I do hear of mms problems on giffgaff....
-
• #7519
Not used giffgaff but check all your settings are what they want you to use, normally it's automated but could be wrong as they're not a massive network and might not of been included in the custom rom.

Thanks again, i'll check all this tonight.

Text 'Settings' to 2020?

^^^Thanks fade, looks promising.
As well is it confirmed Android runs really well on the older eee PC's.
Dammit - see my original posts for links to download an ISO to USB. The ICS versions run fine. If you have a Mac or don't know how to download / create a USB ISO either PM me or am happy to post instructions on this thread. It's easy but I don't want to clog up the thread with techie stuff. Actually it's really not very techie but the Android x86 site is not very well organised.
