Interesting to see other people's mobile desktop layouts, as it shows what's appealing to different users, and a bit of their personality also. Mine has folders, so I can have multiple apps linked together in the same genre, like Chat.
The black circles in the bottom right of mine are folders, didn't realise Trebuchet supported it until I failed at dragging an icon to the next screen and dropped it onto another icon...

Mr Cardboard Box Guy looks sad, this also makes me sad...
I like that widget too, I'm not very happy with my desktop tbh... It needs a sexy revamp, most of the widgets I've seen are utter shite tho'...

Thanks, it's the power control widget that comes as standard with CM7, it's really easy to use, with loads of other options too.

Does turning 3g off really make a noticeable difference to battery life?
-
• #6661
Yeah, makes quite a difference actually.
-
• #6662
Yup, I only bother turning it on when I'm using Google Maps... If I remember...

Depends how much data you are downloading. Turning off the mobile data network altogether will save you lots of power but if you need data it's better to get it fast, so I leave 3G on.
I only ever turn off the Mobile Network (data) when I want to get the most out of my phone - say a Strava GPS logged ride > 8 hours.

I frequently forget to turn on GPS when using google maps, this is followed by me going in the wrong direction and in turn by angry girlfriend.

You could re-enable the "Wheres the GPS?" nag screen. Not sure how though.
3 main battery drains in modern smartphones: big bright screens, 3G, GPS. Next culprit is bad widget and app choices.

Girlfriend nag screen works better...

I've spent the last couple hours trying to flash my galaxy s. Every fucking website I try either doesn't work or is down and all the file sharing sites have stopped downloads.
I finally managed to flash it, tried the clockwork rom manager but it can't seem to find any damn roms, so am downloading the Saurom rom and going to flash it in. This is all such a ball ache. -

I've spent days trying to root my Desire Z.
Apparently my firmware is too new and rolling back involves 1337 coding on ADB Shell and I'm totally not 1337 enough. I'm more 1300, or possibly as low as 1237.

My Desire Z is back up for sale, Mrs Mashton didn't get on with it... £150 with all the bits and pieces and a big rubber cover for it, I even found the box the other day...
