good news is that the TF101 will be getting ICS soon as well as an upgrade...

Yep, meant to be arriving shortly after the Prime gets it, and the Prime has definitely got it now.
What are they selling for on eBay- more than they cost new?
Yes, most of the places which did pre-orders (such as eBuyer) aren't even taking new orders now. Folk seem to be willing to pay up to £600 on eBay.
At the moment though I'm inclined to open it, have a good play with the wi-fi and if it's ok keep it. The screen is apparently great, the HD better, but you have to put them next to each other to really notice the difference.
Also more pixels = more power used, right? And I much prefer the unibody aluminium design of the original prime. Plus I've waited ages for this one, god knows how long they'll take to get the next one out.
have you ever seen him and fox in the same room at the same time?!
I wish I could have fitted my post into 140 characters...

Bought a Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman (horrible title) for £100 on PAYG, and it's a really nice budget android phone. Due to get ICS in April too.

does anyone know a lightweight app that enables you to have different notification sounds for email and sms?

Off to the states in a month, looking at grabbing a tablet whilst there. Looking at around the $200 mark, so I guess a nook, or kindle fire. Essentially just want it for browsing the web, maybe streaming music, and the odd film or something whilst travelling.
Anybody got any first hand recommendations?

Not first hand, but I'd strongly consider the HP TouchPad as worth a punt for that price.

You can do this on some (all ?) phones without an additional app. You should be able to change the notification sound within in the SMS app, and then seperately within the main settings.

That works with Gmail but I assume he's talking about Mail, t'other email app. Covered in my first link.

you know if you can still pick them up at the reduced price over there. Talk of CM 9 being tested on them looks fun.

Precisely. Obviously some people haven't heard about the TouchPad's abilities as an Android machine. And the fact that WebOS has been released to the public domain, can only be very promising.

I can use LFG on my HTC desire without a problem until i need to type a message such as this.
The relevant screens come up along with the keyboard and i can put a title in but when typing in the message box, nothing happens.
Any ideas
thanks.
Is there an app for LFG -

There's a button at the top right of the post input (like "A/A") which you can use to disable the WYSIWYG feature. You should then be able to write stuff.

Anyone had issues with the USB connection on a SGS2? Mine has suddenly stopped functioning - when I plug it in I just get "A connected USB device has malfunctioned" errors. Have reinstalled drivers etc. Win7 & Win8 by the way.

^ sounds like your USB socket on PC itself

Yeah, try another pc and cable.

Yeah same issue on both PCs and several ports on each. Guess it's a hardware issue with the phone itself..

Have you got a custom rom on it? Try a factory re-set if nothing else works

So does anyone have tips or suggestions for a phone in the next couple of months to replace an original Google Nexus ? I know HTC and Samsung both have fancy multi-core phones coming soon, any page about them ?

I don't know specific models, but I have gathered from tablet research that the trend is 2012 is quad core + HD screen (think retina display, but Android). So if you can't find one that doesn't have both of these you should wait.
In other news, I'm really not that patient as I got fed up with waiting for the gold Asus Transformer Prime to arrive and have a grey one coming tomorrow. I do prefer the gold really but Asus seem to have lost the gold ones - they were due this week but have been delayed again. Wi-fi in the real world doesn't seem to be an issue, dead/stuck pixels, your prime not having a serial number (!?) or docking issues seem to be more common problems. So hoping I don't get a duff one, but I haven't cancelled my gold pre-order yet...

I want one.
Okay, separately, should i get the Samsung Galaxy Note? I can get one on Friday.
