  • ok, so i recently downloaded a fota, and now i can't get sound if i watch a utube video via fb. has anyone else had this, is it anything to do with adobe wrapping up work on mobile flash plug-in?

  • just installed Marvin spectrum emulator, fun!

  • Marlon, try either the Moai FLV Player or TubeMate apps.... maybe just as temporary measures.

  • Have any other sensation owners had a problem with dust getting between the screen and the top layer of glass? It's happened in two places on mine and then fanned out. It's a very fine pale dust. Which is very noticeable on a dark screen or when the screens off.

  • Are you sure your eyes aren't just fuzzy? Quit the pr0n..

  • Any recommended budget android phones. Need to get cheap pay as you go for my mum so she can get giff gaff. So far its down to htc wildfire s, samsung galaxy ace (which feels v bad build) or something else?

Orange san francisco ii is supposed to be good but for giffgaff I need it on O2 phone

  • You should ber able to unlock the San Fran for less than a tenner, heard good things about the Huawei Blaze too

  • Winston has been raving about the Huwai Blaze

Best advice I've received on this forum......cheers!

My brother just brought one over for me...skype works well on wifi and 3G.

Overall phone is amazing value....so much better than my previous wildfire...though yet to test battery life and GPS.

  • ZTE Skate aka Orange Monte Carle is available unlocked and updated on ebay for £125 bin.

i got a tiny ding (miniscule) in my desire z and dust started leaking in, not bad at first, but now very bad when the screen is dim. i got an otterbox case to cover up the gap.

  • duct tape

  • i then used sugru to putty the case to the phone.

  • my phone is under a month old i might get it replaced, i'm not very please.

  • got one of these android phones everyones been talking about (samsung galaxy s2). does anyone use cyanogenmod? someone said i should get it as it will improve battery life and make the phone faster, which is why i got the phone, upgrade from a slow old iphone.

is it worth it? bearing in mind i know shit all about how to install it and really dont wanna break my new phone

  • I'd stick with the phone in stock form for a while first.

  • 1+

it easy to go overboard and installed every single apps possible and complaint how slow it is.

  • i just odered a lenovo A1 from Amazon.de "warehouse deals" section...worked out at £136 inc postage...should've thought to ask about it here, but didn't bother, however will report back....

I've used Cyanogenmod on a Galaxy S2 but I went back to a modified Samsung ROM instead as there were a two issues which drove me batshit. The first was that you couldn't turn off the backlit buttons (now fixed in later versions of the rom) and the second was the screen brightness. I like to have my screen on auto-bright but the extremely adjustable settings on CM were unbe-fucking-lievably complicated to adjust and way too dark by default.

I was disappointed because Cyanogenmod was faster than the stock rom I was running at the time, but there are lots of other roms out there which give you similar performance to cyanogen. I'm currently running Androidmeda Hyperdroid which is as fast as CM and suffers from none of the other irritations I was having so I'm happy with it for now!

I'd stick with it in stock form until you find something that really irritates you and then look for ways to fix it without changing the rom. If you can hold off for a couple of months then there will be usable ICS roms available soon, and that would give you a real reason to upgrade! :)

P.S. The official samsung extended battery (the 2000mah one) is brilliant. I've had one for about a week and it's probably the best £20odd I've spent on gadgets ever.

  • If anyone wants to play Wordfeud with me I'm tommmmmmmc. The few people I know who have it are being frustratingly slow at the minute.

  • ^ get the "words with friends" app, it's probably the most popular way to play scrabble online. You can link it to your facebook so you can play your facebook friends and carry on games either on your computer or phone too.

  • Yeah I know more people with that than with Wordfeud. But I waste enough time with Wordfeud as it is and two games would just be excessive

  • delete wordfeud?

  • I thought about that, but I do like it, and it's the only way I have of keeping in touch with a couple of people I used to work with. Fuck it, I'll get both, I just finished my jigsaw.

  • @ozzeh your best ever gadget purchase is a battery? Seriously?

You should get a nintendo gameboy, you'll be in bits...

  • ^ lol
