  • Did you get that from the US?

play.com have started selling them for.. wait for it... £599!!!

    playyouforafool.com more like.

  • Yup, from the US. Stuck my £10/month unlimited data o2 sim in it and away I went.

For me, best things about Nexus 1 over the iphone:
    1) Multitasking
    2) Freedom to use on any network / not tied into a tariff & contract
    3) Decent camera

Haven't really played with the iphone that much, so not the best person to make a direct comparison. You can have a play on it if you catch one of my "once in a blue moon" drinks attendances...

  • Well, I just did a murtle and smashed my phone. Looks like I now have a good reason to upgrade. :S

Anyone heading to the USA today? Can you pick me up a Nexus One?

  • So, I got fed up of waiting for Carphone Warehouse to offer a T-Mobile upgrade, and I didn't like the idea of tying myself to Voda for 18 or 24 months.

So, I had a couple of beers and bought a sim free milestone from superetrader.co.uk.

    It should arrive tomorrow. Yippee.

  • Fantastic timing.. I break phone and then the fucking bank kills my credit card at the same time. No shit, every 6 fucking months they kill my credit card. Fucking idiots.

I could use a debit card to order N1 but don't like doing that. Arse.

  • Thanks.

  • at least the hero will have 2.1 by then

    I wouldn't bet on it...

  • I had the old Motorola that was that shape, the one that flipped around (if you know what I mean)... Total crap, nice font on the display tho'...

  • was it worth £1200?

  • At least...

  • Fenella just ordered an HTC Hero on Hutchinson/Three.

£23.45 for unlimited texts, 750 mins, she then chose to add a fiver a month for unlimited data.

    I now have phone envy!

Got to wait for the 1st of March for the X10.

    Bah.

  • X10? Why? Sony messin' with Android yuk.

  • Why the X10?

4" capacative touch screen and 1Ghz processor, plus a decent camera.

Hardware is meant to be a lot better than the Nexus, basically.

  • New HTC Desire looks good. Has flash support, which is lacking from Nexus 1.
    Available Q2-10

    +1

And unlike hippy, I don't care if the SonyEricsson UI is excessive. The other features have won me over.

Slightly larger screen (also bigger/heavier) but it's not an OLED screen = Fail.
Better camera for sure but only running Android 1.6 and hampered by Sony's UI.
    Nexus wins.

One thing I've not considered is cost. How much is the Xperia?

Oh, while I'm at it. Nexus One does multi-touch now and gets Android updates before any other phone.

  • Nice try. X10 will be updated to Android 2.1 nearly immediately, though there is talk that its release is being held back, so that it comes loaded with Android 2.1, AND Adobe Flash 10.1.

  • Who says it will ship with 2.1? Sony?

You also forgot the screen is bigger but inferior and any future updates will require work by Sony.

Flash is a non-issue for me (unless I'm slating iClones) but if you're interested the N1 can already do it:

  • Wimin like bigger "things". Android phones are for pulling, not chatting. Silly hippy.

  • You dropped these on the way in, Ashe...

  • I distinctly saw them fall from your own pocket, as you were walking the bike.

I've heard fresh air does bikes the world of good.

  • I have my milestone. It's great.

    More details tomorrow.

  • HTC Bravo aka HTC Desire aka Nexus 2, soon due at T-Mobile.

X10 should still arrive first though.

hippy below, is correct. The Nexus 2 is to originate from Moto. The quoted journo above is an Aussie, so what can one expect?
