But I really like this idea of having modular keyboards/touch screens/extra batteries for a handset, would be interesting to see it developed!

I'm having a nightmare with my sensation
When ever my partner phones me the sodding thing crashes - but it doesn't for anybody else.
Looks like i may have to return it or should i wait for the update? anybody else having similar problems??

Change your partner, not your phone.

I'm looking into buying a sensation outright and then getting the £10/month deal on giffgaff. seems like it'll quite a bit cheaper over 18 months than anything O2 can offer. Am I correct in thinking that giffgaff use the O2 network?
-

^ yeah thats exactly what I did and GG is an O2 brand

also been thinking of getting a galaxy SII what is the consensus as to which is better?

Go to a mobile shop and played with both, it's very much a personal choice on which UI you liked the most.
Personally I liked the Sensation but that's because I already got a Desire and liked it's OS.

The Motorola Pro has been supposedly on its way to market since February, but since then, nothing. What has made it to market though, is the Motorola Fire. The phones look identical, but the Fire is a lower specced unit. Still, its got Gingerbread as its OS, so its not bad. The weak camera and smaller 2.8inch screen, and 600MHz CPU, instead of the Pro's 1Ghz unit are obvious cost cutting areas. It may entice some as a back-up phone, and maybe even as a lower end Blackberry replacement.
Its only £159.99 from Amazon, which is much less than any of the other retailers.

Id seriously love one of them for my next phone.

it's great, battery lasts a day of heavy use. never slows down. seriously light, great screen. I've dropped it a lot too, surprisingly hardy.

There are a lot of SII vs Sensation reviews out there. But in short:
Sensation: better resolution, HTC sense
SII: thinner, better screen colours, more processing powerI have a sensation, and it never runs slow, so the processing power isn't an issue. Best to play with both in a phone shop, as others have suggested.

What do I have to consider before doing a factory reset on my HTC Desire - the fucking thing is slower than a slow thing and constantly running out of space. I have all my apps synched to App Brain, I've got Titanium Backup installed.....is there anything else? (music and all that on the SD card)
Cheers

Apart from storage space is there any reason to have applications installed on the SD card instead of the device?
if you're asking me, i am my work..
(i suspect the weak point of this tablet is that android really still isn't secure enough for any business that actually has valuable information.... but for academic/editor types, it's fine.. and not stupidly priced - comparable to the ipad, but with digitiser in addition)
(oh, and the speaker is lousy. and the gps is really slow to lock on, though i guess they might be able to correct that, over time. but i don't use those things..)
