Any idea on how to remove encryption from a Nougat, Lineage OS phone (rooted and bootloader unlocked).
Factory reset didn't do it, neither did wiping everything and upgrading to latest ROM. I don't even seem to be able to change the encryption PIN (it only needs it when it restarts/turns on). If I set a pin in the security settings that is used for unlocking the phone but not at bootup.

Are you using twrp for the recovery? You need to do a wipe then format data.

Using TWRP.
You mean format in TWRP? I don't remember seeing that option.
EDIT: Found it. Didn't seem to work the first few times, just put it into a boot loop, but did the job in the end. Cheers.

Cool. Adrienne seems really happy with it. Love that it's ruining vanilla. Camera seems good.

There are some funky setting that I set up incorrectly that kill background apps. For instance, I was using strava, answered a text mid ride and because that pushed strava to the background, it stopped recording the ride and only picked up GPS again when I ended it. But that is likely an android thing rather than a device thing.

Wide angle camera is pretty appealing, not sure if the g6 has a removable battery or not, the g5 has a "modular" thing going on so it's easy to swap the battery over

Gone back to thinking about the oneplus 5 now...

Got my Sony back. Only took 9 visits to three different Carphone Outhouse stores.
Now what? I bought a milspec XCover 4 in the meantime. Maybe that will be a spare.

I got one, it's blindingly fast but the Oxygen OS really bugged me. Also, the screen resolution was a real step backwards from the Nexus 6P.
Sent it back and got a Pixel XL now they are cheaper.

Should have tried lineage OS I've got it on my OP1 and tablet it's fantastic. Where did you get your XL from out of interest?

Carphone Warehouse. They had the 128GB at £600.
Currently only have the 32GB at £450.

Started considering either a oneplus5 or a Xiaomi mi6 as my Nexus 5x had started having battery issues. But instead I replaced the battery myself and now I don't need a new phone! /csb

hmmm The staff in carephone warehouse did mention that they had almost all their problems with Pixels not Pixel XL's when I had all the trouble with mine. I cant find anything else im happy with...

I can't remember, was your trouble wifi related?
My OH has had to get one changed due to losing wifi, so far.

My Pixel (s) ? They would get stuck in boot loops after updating or when you plugged them into a PC.

Bootloops are scary business, glad you managed to sort it.

Another mild annoyance is that the gps time seems to be an hour out or does not recognise BST so all my strava rides are shown as an hour earlier that they actually were. Not a huge deal, submitted feedback about it but not bad enough to warrant anything more.

So... Oreo... What's the biggie?
On my N5x for twelve hours and it hasn't borked yet... Because I'm running Nova Launcher I have no idea what's new, the app icons on my desktop look shit now... That's all I'm getting...
-
• #19045
Shit app icons and new emojis as far as I can see.
Oh...and picture in picture. If you are navigating in maps and want to look at something else at the same time maps goes into a tiny box. Not sure if it works on other apps, but the PIP is so small I can't see it being that useful.

Would that be a hardware issue? Adrienne is really liking hers. Happy I got it. Jealous she's running a vanilla android.

Possibly, I cannot see any settings on the phone and a google suggests when this happens in strava, its the GPS' onboard clock. The relative times (ie. how long a ride takes) seem fine, it's just when. Like I say, not something that keeps me up at night, just an observation.

Wife's N5x got Oreo last night, my A5 work phone is just updating to Nougat. I think I'll try the Google Launcher instead of the Samsung launcher for that OG experience
Nothing ground breaking. Seems fairly standard. Nearly killed the fingerprint scanner with a single drop of sweat but looks to be working normally now. Still happy, battery life is awesome - so far
