Why did you root it? Isn't that the beauty of Nexus devices - you don't need to?
-
• #17403
No.
If you want to use adaway for example. You need access to the hosts file which requires root.
Many other examples.

I have a tasker app that turns off Bluetooth after a chosen number of minutes which needs root.
Very basic but I haven't found an app that does it.
Also good for restoring phones via titanium backup, adaway and installing app ops for privacy settings.

This.
Although AdAway is refusing to work.
I use apps that need root too - LBE Security (much finer control than even the 5X has, even with PureNexus), TitaniumBackup (doesn't seem so necessary, now that I have shell scripts to backup, and I don't need to freeze any apps as I don't use Google's framework), Xposed Framework, to name but a few

Got a bit of a beef with android at the moment.
When swiping applications away in task switcher thing, it just closes automatically and returns back to the homescreen after swiping away a couple of apps.
This is on an OG nexus 5. -

My Nexus 7 is rooted and I want to play and download from 4OD.
I've tried using Xposed and Rootcloak. The 4OD app still knows it's a rooted device.
Has anyone else found a successful solution?

Apps use different methods for checking if your phone is rooted - either by looking for a response when it makes an su command, or by looking for the su binary itself. You may be able to restrict the app's permissions, and stop it from looking in the first place.

Cheers, I read something to that effect. I'll have a search and see if I can find out how it works it out.

I spent a while trying to do this for the Virgin app. Gave up in the end as none of the variety of methods work and the suggestions were getting down to manually editing files with the caveat that it might brick your phone.

If there's a Eurosport app on my phone, there should be one for kodi/osmc right? There is, and I can log in, but why can't I watch actual channels rather than the stock videos?

Any settings about the oldest things to sync?
The should also be settings about downloading message headers vs headers+bodies vs headers+bodies+attachments.

I had this ikxe and it turned out to be a KB fix applied to the server. Fuck all I could do about it, except raise a ticket with internal IT.
Actually, I was IT so I got my buddy to patch the server. But hey, playaz gonna play, yo.

Given it's only cropped up in the last few days it could be server side.
I thought I'd delete the account and add it again as that seemed to solve the problem for some people. Can I work out how to delete it, can I fuck. All the instructions online reference things which don't work (holding down on the account to get a menu doesn't happen, there is no delete now option in the three dots menu).
EDIT: Found it in the end but took me 15 minutes to work that out.
