Well that is very disappointing,
and,
I can well understand your aversion to the LG G4.
Hopefully LG have improved both aspects, or I'm stuffed. -

Yes,
The RAW function may encourage me to take photography a bit more seriously,
rather than just an ever increasing album of 'point'n'shoot' pictures
left how the phone's camera function thought best.
(I am leaving behind a Nokia N8 that had a pretty good camera, for its time). -

While the iPhone camera as old as hats, the software are excellent which is why I'm using it for photography (much easier to go touring).
However right now the cameras on android phone are improving in an accelerated rate overtaking the iPhone already, so my choice is now the Nexus (big sensor over resolution, USB-C) or the LG (RAW and appear to have better software + SD card).

Yes it was the micro sd card storage,
(much cheaper than buying storage from Samsung or Apple),
and the user replaceable battery,
two hold-overs from my ancient Nokia N8,
that made the LG G4, (especially at £235 from Vodafone just before Xmas),
a suitable replacement.
I will gradually get to know LG software/Android I guess. -

You don't need something better than the iPhone camera though. It might be as old as hats, but if it ain't broke...
Professional journalists, photographers and instadouches are all using iPhones and they take great pictures (in the right hands).
Your iPhone 6P is the second best iPhone (if you consider it second behind the 6S) and I'm not sure an 'upgrade' to a Nexus would feel that much like an upgrade. Just stick with the 6P until you actually need to replace it.

That's why I got the iPhone in the first places, it work really well and the software combine make it easier to take shot, at the time there weren't many android phone that deliver similar result despite a superior camera.
I got till late 2016 to replaced it anyway, so I'm in no rush, I already take some awesome shot with it, but already pushing it to what it can do (low light, long exposure, limited to how much I can do in post-processing).

you've let some pressure out tho, obvs..

Bluetooth mic.
Actually.. scratch that, there are none that are decent even though the bandwidth would be fine.
I'd probably go for a basic condensor lavalier and cable it up: http://www.shure.com/americas/products/microphones/motiv/mvl-omnidirectional-condenser-lavalier-microphone

I have the LG G4. It's my favourite phone ever. Battery life is good, everything else is great.
Don't be put off by bad extrapolation reviews from the g3.

Some review saying it got some smudge and low details on the LG G4, I'm guessing that's due to the ISO 50 option, how was the image for you?

I guess I'm spoilt on cameras. The 6P does give a good picture but I normally shoot with a Sony A7R so to me the 6P just looks "ok" or "passable".
Re: doze... works really well but I do find it funny getting FB msg notifications about an hour after I'd already answered on the PC. Shows it's working though.

Good I like the camera. Prefer my lumix but hey ho.

Navigated with Google maps via headphones on the motorbike across town today. It was pretty good. Few times it got confused by one way giratories but it re-planned and just adjusted. Gave me enough notification of the turning and distance measurements to the turning.
Will use again. Pretty impressed with it via headphones.
I do like to see the route though, so I can make on the fly adjustments if desired. Now I just need to find a way to voice activate and talk to it via my headphoes on my Motorola. That would be cool!
I've got a few trips planned on unknown roads in the next week, so will be a good trial. As I know London so its not really a fair test!

Fuck. Set moto voice up.
If I use 'naviagte me to ...' It'll load up a route on Google maps.
Now to just get it working with me inapps.

• #16992
I still don't get why you need to replace it?
-
• #16993
the 6P just looks "ok" or "passable".
Take pictures with nothing but an old Moto G for a week ;)
-
• #16994
I predominantly use my phone as my camera nowadays because it's just about enough to take decent shot without thinking "if only I got my camera with me".
I take as lots of photos.

it is definitely the annoying itch about that phone, everything else is ok (although I wish it wouldn't stop playing music every time it tries to load just a slightly heavy webpage)

Thinking of picking up the Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 tomorrow. Seems like an absolute steal - and more than capable of doing what I need it to do (web, mail, chat, podcast listening, maps, YouTube).
Any reason I shouldn't?

As someone who does a lot of driving in central London, up and down the country, abroad, and has been using Google Maps Navigation from day one, I agree with @Velocio, nothing comes close.
Any time a sat nav manufacturer comes up with a new bit of tech or a new function, Google replicates it and adds it to Google Maps Navigation so quickly. It's so impressive that I'm surprised more people don't use it. I use it all the time, and I've used it all over Europe and the USA too.
It recently saved me about 3 hours when Calais was shut due to strike action, and everyone was trying to get to Dunkirk instead. Google Maps took me on a back route that I was sure was wrong because I didn't see another car for over 30 mins, it felt like it was leading me into the sea, then we popped out at the entrance to the port, and jumped the entire queue of traffic which stretched from Dunkirk to Calais.

@skinny
I actually feel like London is the fairest test! I like to think I know most of the "shortcuts" in North, North East and North West London, and Google Maps will use the route I'm thinking of every time, whereas all the others want to take me on trunk routes, like Euston Road during rush hour. Fucking LOL. -

Another example, Google Maps is the only software to recommend using the M11 as a route to Peterborough from my flat in Dalston, other offerings want me to take the A1 the whole way, at least 30 mins longer because I've timed it.
I'd go with a USB mic. Not sure if they work in all apps but this is meant to be a decent one for recording https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.extreamsd.usbaudiorecorderpro&hl=en
